Power Systems houses over650 employees in a modern 225,000square-foot facility in San Diego.
Hamilton Sundstrand — Power Systemsprovides a wide range of APUs for com-mercial aircraft from business toregional jets up to 200-passenger airliners. Over 3,360 units are in commercial service with more than26,000,000 hours of operation experience.
Hamilton Sundstrand — Power Systems is also the world’s largest supplier of gas turbine APUs for militaryapplications, with such high-volume programs as the Sikorsky H-60 series helicopter (3,000 units), the F-16(4,000 units), and the KC-135R (900 units). Approximately half of the installed base of the western world’smilitary aircraft that have APUs or jet fuel starters were equipped by Hamilton Sundstrand. Units are availablefor ground operation, flight-essential and flight-critical applications.
In addition to being the principal supplier of gas turbine auxiliary power units, Hamilton Sundstrand is now theleader in the development of miniature (less than 100 lbf thrust) jet engines.
Auxiliary power units are available to both aircraft manufacturers and support equipment packagers. Mobileground power systems and air start units are available through Rheinmetall Landsystem of Kiel Germany.
