What Is a Parent Involvement Pledge?
The Parent Involvement Pledge is a program in which parents commit to volunteering at least ten hours over the course of the school year to sup-port school initiatives.
The Challenge
Over the course of this school year, at least one TWA parent or family mem-ber per student is asked to commit ten (10) volunteer hours. Volunteer op-portunities exist at the school, at home, and in the community. The list on page 3 under Why Volunteer? explains the many activities which qualify.
Make Your Pledge
Completion of the Parent Involvement Pledge will make you a volunteer. Students who return a signed pledge on behalf of their parent( s) will be entered into a raffle for an IPOD shuffle. All parents who volunteer for at least three hours each grading period will be entered into a raffle for movie tickets and a restaurant gift card
Students that need help in math, science, history, English, and PSAT/SAT/ACT are encouraged to attend.
Parents please utilize this terrific program. If your child misses school they can makeup time and receive tutoring. It is a phe-nomenal way for our students to stay on track.
RED program days are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
The program will run through May 30th 2013.

The Parent Resource Center (PRC) at TWA was created to provide op-portunities for parents, provide workshops and training, and provide access to GCS and community resources.
By creating these opportunities, it is our belief that we will support an environment that will allow parents, guardians, and families to further support their child’s ability to succeed in school
The TWA Parent Resource Center is committed to:
►Serve: All T. Wingate Andrews parents, families, school staff, agen-cies and the community.
►Provide: support through listening and problem solving with individ-ual families.
►Maintain: a lending library of books, DVDs, journals, educational games and pamphlets to enhance parenting and family interactions and assist TWA in meeting the needs of all children.
►Promote: a working relationship among parents, school staff and the community that fosters successful partnerships to increase educa-tional opportunities for all children.
►Offer: training sessions and resources for parents and school staff for building positive parent/school partnerships
