10:30 AMI was supposed to meet up with my thesis group, but it was postponed unexpectedly – not everything goes according to plan all the time. I decided to stay and support the Stress Management Seminar.
10:00 AMI arrive in school just in time for the Stress Management Seminar spearheaded by my very own junior officers.
12:10 NNI meet up with my committee over lunch to talk about our upcoming projects.
1:05 PMI attend the Members-Officers-Junior Officers (MOJO) Interaction to have fun and to relieve my stress.
3:00 PMI meet up with my committee once again after the MOJO Interaction, but this time, to plan for the officers’ teambuilding that would happen next week.
6:30 PMAfter the 3-hour meeting, I finally arrive home and spend some quality time with my family over dinner.
I love my life in BMS – attending activities, bonding with the people, and learning from different experiences. My day might seem long and busy, but I do not get tired because I love my work and I enjoy what I am doing.
FRIDAY – Instead of bumming after the strenuous 4-weekday classes in DLSU, the officers and junior officers still give effort to attend to the different demands of the organization. Fridays are often reserved for seminars, workshops, and other activities of the organization. Some may consider it as a burden, but for BMS officers, there’s no better way to spend a Friday than to be with the BMS family.

10:00 AMStart the day by attending
the Stress Management seminar organized by BMS. I learn that planning and time management seem to be the
best ways to avoid stress.
4:00 PMAfter a quick meal at Noel’s, I head home
with some friends.
1:00PMIt was time to host BMS’ MOJO interaction with
my fellow junior officer, Laurence Cua!
3:05 PMI go back to the Sports Complex
to document the finals of the BNE12 Allympics – both
the dodgeball and basketball tournaments. Tensions arose
as the game was coming to a close! I took photos of the
winners afterwards.
12:10 PMI arrive at Sports Complex to
take photos for the BNE12 ALLYMPICS organized by my
Batch Government which I am also part of.

Through some time budgeting and
perseverance, I was able to learn and attend to so
many things today. Being a JO was not a blessing in
disguise – it was a blessing from the start. I am really
thankful for having the opportunity of being a
Junior Officer.
1:30 PMI laugh so hard during the
balloon relay game at MOJO! Randall, Charles, and Austin cheated because they made
balloons before the time started! The funnier part
is when they have to sit on someone’s lap in order to
pop the balloon!

who anna isThrough advocating worthwhile causes, the
Filipino youth were able to give innovative solutions to the most pressing problems in society. Anna Oposa is an example of a Filipino youth grasping the reigns of societal change.
fast factsJuggling the demands of being an English
Studies major at UP Diliman and fighting for causes she believes in, Anna Oposa has her hands tied. She successfully balances being a blogger, a freelance writer, and a musical theatre actress. With an ardent zeal for the environment, she is heeding the call for Filipino youth to take action.

taking actionAnna focuses on ecotourism and environmental
issues among other things. Anna spearheaded Isko Cleans Up (ICU), which promotes the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act in UP. On top of that, she has handled coastal clean ups and represented the Philippines in the UN Climate Change Conference in Mexico.
Her devotion to the environment manifests in her constant campaigning of her principles. She was
able to diminish the limitations, which discourage the youth from responding to social concerns. Anna explained, “The disadvantage is that age comes with certain expectations—that I won’t take my work seriously, that my attention span will wane. But I take this as a good thing, because I push myself more.”
being young is a good thingThrough her projects, Anna has paved the
way for the enhancement of Philippine ecotourism and increased the careful watch on our environment. Most importantly, she has encouraged the Filipino youth to make a difference. She explained, “Fear only indicates that you’re on to something important. Being young is a good thing because we can afford to keep our idealism and stubborn optimism in tact.”

Lasallians tell us their stories about their unforgettable Valentine’s moment. Feel the Valentine’s day vibe as you read through these mushy stories that would make you say “awww”!
compiled by Christine Sevilla
A SWEET SURPRISEIn 2005 (I was an undergrad then), I was at the Sports Plaza beside SJ walk in DLSU manning our organization's Valentine's booth. My girlfriend dropped by with a bouquet of flowers in hand that I gave her earlier that day. We hang out at the booth for about half an hour when suddenly the Pops Orchestra appeared in front of us. The plan was set up by my girlfriend. They played the famous Pachelbel's Canon while my girlfriend and I danced to the music right then and there.

LOVERS’ GETAWAYI spent the weekend until Monday in Boracay with my brother, his girl, and my boyfriend. I woke up on Valentines as my boyfriend serenaded me with his guitar singing the song “You and Me” by Lifehouse. It was definitely the best way to wake up. After that, he gave me a letter and red roses. We spent the whole day together and even got matching henna tattoos which represented our names in Alibata.
–- Stellar, AB Psychology
a love story to rememberWe met along the streets of China. She was with somebody then but eventually it did not last. We grew close over the next few weeks since I still kept in touch. During Valentine’s day, I went to her front door for the first time, gave her a teddy bear, a bracelet, a rose, and a red heart-shaped letter I made myself (with pop-out-bouncy hearts inside and written in silver metallic ink), and stayed out in their porch talking into the night – a love story that did end, eventually, yet a memory that would last eternity, frozen in bliss and mind.

“I love how BMS provides a conducive place for

eeking for a job after graduating college is never easy. Establishing a business is not as simple as how we imagine it to be. In fact, not all college graduate students are successful in dealing with their bosses, colleagues, and stress that they are faced with along the way. Here are some of the graduates of the Business Management
and Applied Corporate Management programs to share the “do’s and don’ts” that alumnae have to know for the next chapter in their lives.
DO’s• Talk to everyone involved in the business.
Listen and learn from them.
• Ask a lot of questions. Do not stop until you understand.
• Respect others, especially your family members. Thank your parents for giving you straightforward employment.
DON’Ts• Don't expect to immediate application of all
the techniques, technologies, or strategies you have learned at the university.
• Don’t stop learning; learn as much as you can. It is good to learn by your experiences and others’ experiences as well.
• Don't be a mean boss in the making. Be courteous and firm, always with a smile.

DO’s• Look at things the way your target market sees it.
• Seek the most practical help.
• Accept the facts. You have made the wrong turn, so don’t hesitate to make a u-turn.
DON’Ts• Don’t commit the same mistakes.• Don’t forget to pray. God works! Now if you don’t
believe, I still give the same advice - PRAY.• Don’t drain your capital when you made the
wrong decision.

DO’s• Always take the initiative! Share your ideas and
suggestions. You may be able to improve the efficiency of current work methods or provide a fresh perspective.
•Ask questions; clarify things. Your co-workers will even appreciate your initiative to learn more.
DON’Ts• Don’t say yes to something that you cannot handle.
Although it is commendable to accept tasks which are not part of your job description, make sure that you can handle the tasks that you have committed to do.
• Don’t break the rules. Pay attention to your company’s rules and regulations.

After all, we are now living in a fast-paced life, where we have to calmly adapt into different working environments and
different working norms. To have a long term success profession though, you have to know what is ethical and just, what is proper and inappropriate. When you are aware of these principles, then you are bound to fit in the real life industry.

SECRET FORMULA OF PASSION:LIFE OF A PROFESSORby Aisha Lim
side from preparing students’ requirements, professors also have responsibilities outside teaching! Wouldn’t it be interesting to know his principles and secret formulas in managing
his time so well? Mr. Brian Quenbengco, a part-time DLSU professor teaching in the Entrepreneurship program, shares his secrets with Red Ink!
PASSION GIVES RISE TO GOODTIME-MANAGEMENT
Time-management gets tougher as we grow older. However, Mr. Quebengco has a solution for this.
I would call it the secret formula of LOVE. “I do what I love to do. I wake up everyday doing what I love to do. And when you do what you love to do, there’s no need to balance anything. Everything is consistent,” he explained. There’s a good chance that everything you do would be “well-managed” by time on its own when you are passionate.
DIFFERENT ROLES,ONE IMAGE
How do you manage different roles that result from different
responsibilities? Mr. Quebengco believes that “The best people are who they are, no matter where they are.” Consistency in character should be observed because it’s crucial in building trust.
EPITOME OFPASSION
Finding what you love to do sounds easy but chances of it changing is another story. “The earlier the
better. Experiment, explore, and make mistakes,” advised Mr. Quebengco. He believes that it’s important to know what you want and seek it. He encouraged the readers to, “Follow your compass and not your clock.” Time won’t be there to tell you what you should do and how you should be.

Cultura Verde Footwear Inc., from the Spanish term “Green Culture”, is a company that
envisions itself in creating livelihood opportunities for their partner communities and addressing growing environmental concerns. With every purchase of SOULe shoes, the buyer is also able to help the environment and the community partners. Cultura Verde’s passion for the cause and product enables it to have a big heart for both the environment and the society.
The “ENTcyclers” came up with an innovative product that
would not only capture the market, but benefit the environment as well.
