5 tips for making the most of a virtual fairA virtual fair is likely to be a new experience for you, so here are five top tips to help you make the most of your

visit. If you need any help on the day, head to the UEA Careers Support Zone where you can ask questions, explore resources and get 1-to-1 support from a careers adviser.

11Get to know the platformOn the day of the event, take some time to go through the VFairs ‘Recruitment and Opportunities Fair’ platform. Familiarise yourself with the Entrance Foyer, the different Employer Zones, the online workshops and Careers Support Zone. If you need any further help on the day, come visit our stand or check out the helpdesk for technical issues.

Research employersMake sure you spend some time researching organisations before the event. Look on their website, visit and follow their social media platforms and check out any other channels they may have. You’ll also be able to find out a lot about them by visiting their stand during the event, including their opportunities.

Have an open mind!Just because you’ve studied one thing doesn’t mean that you can’t explore other options. Your degree has given you skills that can be transferred into a wide variety of career paths, so try talking to organisations you wouldn’t normally approach.You might be surprised by what they have to offer.

Make a good first impressionYou will have the opportunity to chat directly to different organisations. Work on your opening message and have a few questions prepared to ask them. If you’re planning to chat with them by video, make sure your internet connection is up to scratch and you look professional... and smile!

Jet Programme

The Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme, is aimed at promoting grass-roots international exchange between Japan and other nations. The JET Programme is one of the largest exchange programmes in the world. JET has flourished because it receives wide support from a variety of sources, most notably from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR).

Think Ahead

‘How to…’ workshops are short online career skills workshops and can help you with everything from choosing your first career step through to preparing for interview. We also provide follow-up resources and information after each workshop to help you make the most of what you’ve learned.

Every year, thousands of older people and their carers turn to Age UK Norfolk for support. Our dedicated team of volunteers are the backbone of our organisation and without their/your help; we simply would not be able to deliver all the services that we do.Become a Digital Inclusion Champion and help over 50s set into the Digital World. Over 12 weeks you will teach them how to use their device (tablet/iPad), for example setting up WhatsApp and answering video calls from family and friends, to more advance support like, online shopping and setting up an email account.

We are Equal Lives. A disability rights organisation based in Norfolk and Suffolk. We exist to support people of any age who face disabling barriers and we are dedicated to making their voices heard. We are Norfolk’s charity for people living with sight loss and visual impairment.
