RECREATION AND NATURE INTRODUCTIONRecreation or fun is the
expenditure of time in a manner designed for therapeutic
refreshment of one's body or mind. While leisure is more likely a
form of entertainment or sleep, recreation is active for the
participant but in a refreshing and diverting manner. A time in
which individuals are not compelled to do anything, and are free to
choose to relax or to take part in a leisure activity. Leisure has
important social functions, including relief from the demands and
restrictions of work. Most people enjoy socializing with friends for
dinner or a drink after a hard day at work. For many young people,
having a regular night out a week is a normal part of their free
time, whether it is joining friends for a drink in a pub, dining
out in a restaurant, watching a film, playing video games or
dancing at a club.Types of leisureActive leisure activities involve
the exertion of physical or mental energy. Low-impact physical
activities include walking and yoga, which expend little energy and
have little contact or competition. High-impact activities such as
kick-boxing and football consume much energy and are competitive.
Some active leisure activities involve almost no physical activity,
but do require a substantial mental effort, such as playing chess
or painting a picture. Active leisure and recreation overlap
significantly.Passive leisure activities are those in which a
person does not exert any significant physical or mental energy,
such as going to the cinema, watching television, or gambling on
slot machines. Some leisure experts discourage these types of
leisure activity, on the grounds that they do not provide the
benefits offered by active leisure activities. For example, acting
in a community drama (an active leisure activity) could build a
person's skills or self-confidence. Nevertheless, passive leisure
activities are a good way of relaxing for many people. AIMS &

Musholm Bay Holiday centre
The expansion of resort is divided into two sections in the form
of a multi-purpose sports hall and a number of new holiday flats.
More images and architects description after the break.the sports
hall is located at the heart of the resort, while the flats are
located in the periphery. In this way, the activities spread in
ever-widening circles from the sports hall to the flats by which
the expansion provides a dynamic layout for the future resort. In
addition, the layout offers panoramic views of the bay and the
scenic surroundings from the sports hall and the flats.
It is the bar for socially sustainable architecture by providing
all visitors, whether they are disabled or not, the opportunity for
active and attractive holiday experiences.
The holiday resort breaks with the ordinary. The multi-purpose
sports hall includes an activity ramp which provides visitors,

bar for socially sustainable architecture by providing all
visitors, whether they are disabled or not, the opportunity to

AQUA MARINE PARK 2.1 INTRODUCTION
The Aquamarine parkis a park consisting of an area of sea (or
lake) sometimes protected for recreational use, but more often set
aside to preserve a specific habitat and ensure the ecosystem is
sustained for the organisms that exist there.
Although for many uses it is sufficient to designate the
boundaries of the marine park and to inform commercialfishing
boatsand other maritime enterprises, some parks have gone to
additional effort to make their wonders accessible to visitors.
These can range fromglass-bottomed boatsand smallsubmarines, to
windowed undersea tubes.
The development will provide a space for the local community to
come together and connect on multiple levels, there can be a
changing spectrum of activities, from the mostcasual and personal
moments to group events, family moments and formal group
celebrations. 2.2 AIM OF THE PROJECT..
To design an aquapolis in surat for all category of people of
all age group and gender by maintaining the natural environment of
the aquatic plants and animals. To attract foreign tourists mainly
and also promote weekend family tourism from the metropolitan
citys. To spread awareness and studies related to oceanography.
2.3 OBJECTIVES..
Such a proposal of this project in India would not only aim at
the conservation of marine life but also works towards the
development and at the same time reap benefits from foreign
exchange by attracting foreign tourists.
India has a vast potential for fishing resources comprising of a
long coastline and 30% of the people living on the shore, mans
dependence on the sea and the life it nurtures cannot be ignored.
It is his own turn to contribute to the symbiotic relationship.
Educating people in this respect and stressing the urgency of
conservation would not be better achieved than through
entertainment.
Thus proposals like this go a long way in educating people
through entertainment to make them realize their responsibilities
towards other life forms. 2.4 SCOPE OF THE PROJECT..
India has very few aquatic centers and as such there is a need
to boost the same. India has a wide region covered underwater and
has coastal areas app. 1/3 of it.
Hence it has a relation with water and marine life since the
beginning so it is necessary to create awareness among the people
and provide a superficial platform to interact with the aquatic
life.
The scope would be to create awareness about marine and aquatic
life. It should also help to generate interest and knowledge among
students as well as researchers about the aquatic world. It should
act as a tourist, recreational and educational center concerning
marine life.
