1997-Present EDGE Strategic Impact in Mohawk Valley

Preserving the Air Force Research LabCurrently AFRL is constructing a 28,000 square-feet addition to their existing Information Directorate complex and additionally alter approximately 18,600 square-feet to accommodate new laboratory and support facilities in support of the Information Directorate’s scientific and technical mission. Total cost of the project is $10.25 million.

EDGE Real Estate Projects- Brownfields

General Cable Site• EDGE partnered with the City of Rome, RIDC,

OCIDA and New York State’s Restore NY’s Communities Initiative to redevelop the General Cable Site in East Rome.

• A byproduct of the partnership resulted in the remediation and site improvements which enabled American Alloy Steel to build a 57,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art building!

Marcy NanoCenter at SUNYITMarcy NanoCenter at SUNYIT is EDGE’s effort to attract and grow the semi-conductor, nanoelectronics and photovoltaic industries in the Mohawk Valley. This site is a 300+acre greenfield on the campus of SUNYIT.

Project Status Update•EDGE, SUNY, SUNY Research Foundation and SUNYIT finalized a Project Development Agreement (PDA)•Utilizing over $27.2 million in grants from NY State, National Grid, OCIDA and EDGE for engineering, professional services, marketing, infrastructure improvements and site development activities:

Oneida County Business Park Reuse Plan

The reuse study outlines a landuse plan for the former Oneida County Airport and identifies capital investment requirements

Stakeholders group formed from tenants of the Park, EDGE, Oneida County, Whitestown, Mohawk Valley Water Authority, National Grid and other parties involved to address immediate needs to revitalize OCBP

Current Focus: Infrastructure, way finding, branding and signage for the Park
