Who is qualified to be a Teacher

• Successfully completed teacher education qualifications like D.T.Ed., B.Ed., M.Ed., SET/NET, A.T.D. etc.

• Must have passion of teaching and learning.

• Competency of Teaching and Content.

• After acquiring qualifications you search for teaching jobs.

• This presentation will help you to prepare a C.V., an application and to face interview successfully for the post of teacher .

C.V.

• Remember it is a C.V. of a teacher, so it should be neat, correct and descent.

• Paste your passport size on right corner if mentioned in Advertisement.

• Avoid spelling mistake.• Don’t use short forms.• Use simple and clear language. Don’t be

too flashy.

C.V.• Write ‘Curricular Vitae’ or ‘Bio-Data’ on the top,

central alignment.• Name & Address - Write your name and address

on the top with right alignment. Don’t align left, it’s some part may disappear in filing.

• Aim – Write achievable and practicable aim, in simple and clear words. Don’t be too ambitious or over confident.

• Further content should be left aligned.

• Full Name, Postal address with PIN.• Contact – Landline No. with STD code, permanent

mobile No. and e-mail ID.• Language known – mention level of language

proficiency i.e.-read, write, speak etc.• Category – mention category not a caste. e.g.

O.B.C., S.C., N.T.-3. Don’t mention Religion.

C.V.• Hobbies – Write real hobbies if any. Don’t just

mention for the sake of impression. If you don’t have hobbies, don’t mention anything.

• Special Achievements – First rank, Merit rank, Gold medal, Special prizes on district to international level in any co or extra curricular activities. Even Social or research achievement can be mentioned. It will impress employer additionally.

• Academic Qualification – It should be given in a Table Form.

• Begin with Highest Qualification to lower one. e.g. Master’s Degree to SSC.

• For all Degrees mention Special Subject and General subjects.

• Mention Methods of B.Ed.• Write Diploma courses like computer,

foreign language, music, craft etc. also after Degree courses.

• Write your name & Address as ‘From’ on the top of a page, Possibly right alignment.

• Then write ‘To’ for Principal/Head/Secretary of a School, name & address of the school, as mentioned in an advertisement.

• Don’t mention the name of Principal/Head/Secretary even you know it.

subject of graduation and PG.• Brief about work experience in tenure.

Interview : Preparation

• Confirm a schedule of an interview.• Get the information of how and where to

reach.• Be sure about a venue because some time

institute conducts interviews at head office/main campus/city office etc.

• If letter not received by you, and somebody else received, then inquire to the institute.

• Send your confirmation to attend the said interview.

curriculum.• Get information about the institute and

management.

On the Interview Day

• Wear simple, sober and formal wear suitable for teacher in the society.

• Eat enough before you leave the home.• Keep snacks and water bottles.• Leave the home by anticipating traffic and

transport issues.• If distance is more leave one day before.

• Reach before time at the said place.• Report in the respective office and sign on

an attendance.• Confirm tentative timing of interview.• Talk to known-unknown candidates

present, don’t look as a rival. It will release pressure.

• Ask permission to enter.• Wish the panel. Say good morning /

afternoon etc.• Don’t be nervous in front of panel. It is just

• Give the file of testimonials when asked.• Generally first question is “Introduce self”• In an introduction – full name,

qualifications -degree, subjects, college/school, university, experience and special ability as a Teacher.

• Listen a question carefully and completely.• Give an answer to the panel, not to him

only who asked.• Give realistic, practical and logical answers.• Don’t be too ideal or too realistic.

• Be honest. If you don’t know answer, agree it. Don’t tell lies.

• Use formal and simple language.• Don’t do extra gestures and postures.• Body language should be matured and

controlled.• Don’t be showy.• Don’t be over confident.

• Express your passion about teaching profession.

• Don’t agree with all questions, they may tricky questions.

• Sometimes argue but don’t fight with polite & normal voice.

• In the answer you should impress with your ability of teaching and experience, remarkable achievements.
