Owner Jim Mohatt of Boxer BBQ said resi-dents are unfamiliar with the dish, which is pop-ular in southern states.
Mohatt runs the business with his wife,Cindy. This October marks the restaurants five-year anniversary. In that time, they’ve achieveda large customer base with many regulars.
Mohatt said their most popular entrees arepulled pork and beef brisket. Bakes beans andpotato salad are the most popular sides. Therestaurant also serves smoked prime rib on Fri-days.
Customers also visit the establishment for itsfried bread pudding. The recipe includes mari-nated apples and is topped with homemadevanilla bean ice cream from Tazza di Caffé inCouncil Bluffs.
