How to access:View actually RDA instructions must be IP authenticated:

Logging in RDA Toolkithttp://access.rdatoolkit.org/Logging in Cataloger's Desktophttp://desktop.loc.govTools bar in the OCLC Connexion Client and Browser

Connexion now includes links to the RDA Toolkit. RDA Toolkit subscribers can save their authorization and password in Connexion. When displaying a bibliographic or authority record, selecting the RDA Toolkit link will result in the RDA Toolkit opening in a browser window, logging you onto the system, and displaying the RDA content associated with the specific MARC field. This functionality is available in the Windows-based Connexion client version 2.30 and in the Web-based Connexion browserSubscribers to both Cataloger's Desktop and the RDA Toolkit can access the Toolkit within Cataloger's Desktop.

11Go toTool Menu, Options, RDA. Check a box to enable IP authentication into RDA Toolkit.

click into the Tool menu, select Options, and then choose the RDA tab. The RDA dialog box is shown below. RDA catalogers should check the boxes for bibliographic and/or authority records to access the proper workforms.12RDA bibliographic workform

RDA bibliographic workform (shown below) looks very familiar to the AACR2 workforms with the usual range of MARC fields to complete. However there are a few significant differences. For starters, the form includes the 040 e code of "rda", signaling the rules applied to the record. The most notable difference in the RDA workform is the presence of the 336, 337, and 338 fields. These are the new RDA-specific fields used to record content type, media type, and carrier type, and Connexion includes a macro that assists in generating the content of those fields. Slightly less obvious, is the Leader/18 (Desc) field, which is does not default to "a." For RDA cataloging this field should be coded i if ISBD punctuation is used or blank if ISBD is not used.13RDA Table of Content Each section begins with a chapter of general guidelines.First four sections of RDA deal with Recording Attributes of ..
