BENNETT COLLEGEBennett College is the only historically African American college for women in North Carolina and is one of two in the country. A private, four year liberal arts college, it is affiliated with the United Meth-odist Church. Founded in 1873, the College held its first sessions in the basement of Warnersville Meth-odist Episcopal Church (now known as St. Matthews United Methodist Church).
Today, Bennett prepares contemporary women for a complex and competitive world. Many graduates have been recognized as leaders in a large variety of disciplines, including medicine, law, education, government and religion. The College looks to the ever-changing demands of the present and fu-ture by recognizing the necessity of training its students for graduate studies and leadership roles in science and technology, global systems, public policy, communications, and in issues as world hunger, environmental changes, and global health.
PARTNERSHIP IN EDUCATIONIn 1944, Bennett College along with other colleges and universities formed the Nation’s largest, oldest, and most comprehensive minority higher education assistance organization, the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). Our partnership continues today!
Over 60% of our students are the first in their families to attend college. UNCF provides assistance for 65,000 students at about 900 colleges across this country for undergraduate students and masters and doctoral candidates.

Bryan Park Golf ClubThe Players Course is a great fit golfers of all abilities offering generous fairways and greens with its own unique set of challenges. The Champions Course having played host to the prestigious 2010 Public Links Championship, is a little more challenging but is an extremely fair test of golf also enjoyed by all. Just a short drive from downtown Greensboro, Bryan Park Golf Club is a golfers paradise that also incorporates an expansive golf practice range and a stand-alone golf instructional academy led by PGA Professional Robert Linville and his extremely talented team of teaching professionals.
