The Program: LifePlan Coaching is an innovative, customizable, and powerful program Designed for youth (14-19) charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act Youth who are serious and repeat conflict with the law but motivated to change It is an intensive interventional, individualized, structured plan to help them turn their lives 

around one step at a time Referrals usually come directly from a Judge as part of a probation order or bail conditions

but can also come from probation officers, defense lawyers, or other related third party agencies

Coaching is geared toward building capacity and empowering youth to create personalized plans

Coaching gives youth the confidence and vision to put their plans into action as well as the support, structure, and acknowledgement to help realize their vision of a better life

PACT has developed specialized in-house training and a tool kit for already certified coaches PACT also has upfront comprehensive assessment and intake process that identiies youth 

who: have the required level of stability are most ready for coaching (and change) can articulate goals And thus, have the best opportunity for success in the program.

The Numbers:

• $29 Billion: Annual cost of overall crime in Canada

• $2.9 Billion: Cost of federal corrections in Canada in 2011

• $120,000: Annual cost of keeping ONE inmate in a federal prison

• $2 Million+: Lifetime cost of ONE habitual criminal

• 700: Number of habitual young offenders in Metro Toronto

• $1.4 Billion+: Lifetime costs to the system of these 700 youth

PACT’s 5-Year Goal:

TO HELP 250 YOUTH                      AT A COST OF $5000 X 250 =    $1.25 MILLION

TO SUCCESFULLY BREAK THE CYCLE OF RECIDIVISM IN

A MINIMUM OF 125 YOUTH

SAVING SOCIETY ABOUT $248.75 MILLION

The Courts:

• 50% of criminal youth will entercourt once and never reoffend. 

• 35% of charged youth are in courtbetween two and three times. 

• 15% of all charged youth areresponsible for the large majority ofcharges and are destined to becomeHabitual adult criminals. 

It is this last group of repeat offenders thatthe LifePlan Coaching Program was designed to help.
