Chapter 1 How to Use the Commands Line
1.1 Software and hardware environment
Hardware environment: RC002 device platform

1.2 Explanation of symbols in the command lines

User EXEC Users are authorized to
configure basic information and display parameters, etc.
Log onto the device and input user name and

Privileged EXEC
Users are authorized to configure basic information of RC002, such as system time,
and display parameters. Configuring running
information is not authorized.
Use the command enable under user EXEC mode.

Users are authorized to configure running parameters

Note: Device Path Definition:
Slot path: “/n”, where n indicates slot number; Local device path: “/n/a”, where n indicates chassis number, a indicates slot number; Remote device path: “/n/a/b/c…”, where n indicates chassis number, a indicates slot number,
b indicates first layer remote device number; c indicates second layer remote device number. RC002 is able to bear two layers of remote devices at most.
Interface path: local interface path is denoted as “local device path/port number”; remote interface path is denoted as “remote device path/port number”.

1.3 Command line modes
1. The commands are all stop at command keyword before the first parameter.
2. All optional parameters should be bracketed into a “[ ]”, regardless of how many parameters there are. Parameters should be separated by “|”.
3. In the case of any choices of required parameters or command keywords, all parameters and command keywords should be bracketed into a “()”. Parameters and command keywords should be separated by “|”.

Configure speed and duplex mode for Ethernet interface
speed (10|100) duplex (full-duplex|half-duplex)

(10|100): set port speed at 10M or 100M
(full-duplex|half-duplex): interface working mode to be full-duplex or half-duplex

Port speed and duplex mode can only be set when auto-negotiation function disable.
