1 IntroductionThe Rapid Installer for CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One can be used by SAP partnersto accelerate the installation of SAP CRM 2007 software components required as basis for runningthe scenarios of CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One respectively SAP Best Practices for CRM V1.2007.
The Rapid Installer is technically an adapted version of the SAPINST installer for SAP CRM 2007using the standard SAP CRM 2007 installation sources but tailored to the specific system landscaperequirements of CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One.
The Rapid Installer is not a prerequisite for the installation of CRM Functionality in SAP Business All- in-One .
The use of the Rapid Installer is limited to the following combinations of operating systems (64-bit)and databases:
Windows 2003 Server / MaxDB
Windows 2003 Server / MS SQL Server
Linux / MaxDB
The Rapid Installer only supports the installation of a central system on a single host.
The Rapid Installer can only be used in combination with SAP CRM 2007.
The standard SAP CRM 2007 SAPINST installer have to be used in case the Rapid Installer is notapplicable to your project requirements.
In case of technical problems when using the Rapid Installer please create a customer messagespecifying the component BC-INS-UNX.

The Rapid Installer guide refers to the chapters of these SAP CRM 2007 installation guides andexplains which installation activities mentioned in these guides have to be considered during theRapid Installer Installation.
2 PlanningPlease see SAP CRM 2007 installation guide for details regarding the following sections.
2.1 Basic System VariantsThe SAP Rapid Installer only supports the installation of all instances of the ABAP + Java system ina central system on a single host.
Distribution of instances on separate hosts is not supported.
2.2 Domain or Local InstallationThe Rapid Installer performs a local installation on a single machine (central system).
2.3 How to Distribute Instances to HostsThe SAP Rapid Installer will be used to install the SAP instances as a central system on a singlehost.
2.4 How to Distribute Instances to Hosts for a Java Add-InInstallation
The SAP Rapid Installer will be used to install the Java Add-In SAP instances as a central system ona single host.

Once you have ensured that all prerequisites are fulfilled, you are ready to start the SAP Rapid Installer for CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One .
4.1 Running the Rapid Installer
Use
To install the SAP Rapid Installer for CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One you have todownload the DVD from the Software Distribution Center (SWDC) of the SAP Service Marketplace:

Procedure...
1. Download the Rapid Installer DVD to your local working directories and unpack the DVDcontent.
2. Navigate to file ..\<Operating system>\sapinst.exe and execute it.
4.1.1 Selection of Database and Operating System Platforms
Use
The SAP Rapid Installer supports the following combinations of database and operating systems:
Windows 2003 Server / MaxDB
Windows 2003 Server / MS SQL Server
Linux / MaxDB
Procedure
On the Welcome to SAP Installation Master screen Open folder Rapid Installer for CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One , then the folder of your database and double click thecorresponding entry to execute.
If SAPinst detects an existing installation of SAP Rapid Installer for CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in One , you will get a dialog box where you can choose to start anew installation or to continue the existing old installation.
CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One provides several scenarios.
Each scenario requires a specific combination of SAP application components, i.e. depending onyour scenario selection only the relevant subset of SAP application components will be installed.
This avoids a needless allocation of hardware resources for the CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One landscape.
Procedure
On the CRM Functionality in SAP Business All-in-One: Scenario Selection screen select yourscenario scope.
This password is used for all user accounts the SAP Rapid Installer creates and for the secure storekey phrase. The length has to be 8 to 14 characters.
Depending on your installation scenario there might be more restrictions.
If you do not create the operating system users manually, SAPinst creates them with the commonmaster password (see “Operating System Users”). In this case, make sure that the master passwordmeets the requirements of your operating system and of your database.
SAPinst processes the passwords of operating system users as follows:
If the operating system users do not exist, SAP creates the following users:
<sapsid>admThis user is the SAP system administrator user and is a member of the local Administratorsgroup.
SAPService<SAPSID>This user is the Windows account to run the SAP system.It is not a member of the local Administrators group.
The SAP Rapid Installer sets the master password for these users by default.
You can overwrite and change the passwords either by using the parameter mode Custom or bychanging them on the parameter summary screen.
If the operating system users already exist, the SAP Rapid Installer prompts you for the existingpassword, except the password of these users is the same as the master password.
Make sure that you have the required user authorization for these accounts before you start theinstallation.
