rainbow™ Dental Porcelain
1. Device Name Proprietary Name: rainbow™ PorcelainCommon Name: Dental CeramicClassification Name: Porcelain powder for zirconia
2. Descriptionrainbow™ Pocelain is a dental material product composed of feldspar, quartz, oxides, carbonates and color pigments including fluorescent pigment. It consists of Liner, Opacious Dentin, Dentin, Enamel, Translucent, Cervical, Margin, Glaze and Stain, and the special porcelain for Opal effect and Fluor effect.rainbow™ Porcelain is used by dental technicians for the preparation of all-ceramic crowns and bridges. It is used in prosthetic dentistry by heating the powder mixture in high-temperature furnace to make a hard prosthesis with a glass-like finish.
3. Standard and Classification (1) Applicable standard: ISO6872:2008 Dentistry - ceramic materials(2) Classification by ISO6872:2008: Type I, Class 1According to clause 4 of ISO6872, Type I includes ceramic products which are provided as powders, pastes and aerosols, and Type II includes all other forms of ceramic products. All components of rainbow™ Porcelain are included in ceramic products as powder. Therefore, only Type I can apply to classify all components by ISO6872:2008. And rainbow™ Porcelain belongs to Class 1 since it is the aesthetic ceramic for coverage of a ceramic substructure.
4. Characteristics∙ Crack-free Porcelain for Zirconia Core∙ Improved Esthetic and Natural Shade and Shade Stability∙ Simple Build-up and Excellent Workability∙ Enhanced the Bonding Strength with Liner
5. Indication for Userainbow™ Porcelain is indicated for veneering of zirconia framework and copings for the preparation of crowns and bridges.
6. ContraindicationThe application of rainbow™ Porcelain is contraindicated if- the coping of artificial teeth is not made of zirconia materials. - a crack occurred by compression or tension.- a patient is likely to be allergic to any ingredients of dental ceramic.
rainbow™ Porcelain 5
The dental enamel reflects the short wavelength blue portion of light, transmits warm, long wavelength orange-colored light, and glows in the transmitted light almost like amber. This phenomenon is caused by tiny water inclusions and impurities. Opal porcelain of rainbow™ Porcelain shows excellent opalescence effect by nano-crystal precipitated in porcelain.
The natural fluorescence emanate from deep inside of the tooth. Ultraviolet light, as electromagnetic radiation from the non-visible spectrum of daylight, stimulates this particular form of luminescence. The ceramic compound that is built up in the inside of the crown is also dosed with additional fluorescing material. By adding special fluor-pigment, rainbow™ Porcelain provides an excellent fluorescence effect and in order to achieve strong fluorescence effect, special porcelains such as Fluor-W and Fluor-T are available.
Thanks to special treatment of rainbow™ Porcelain powder using our own technique; it is easy and convenient for build-up fabrication.

In porcelain-substructure system, the coefficient of thermal expansion(CTE) is a key property of dental porcelain powder. It must be consistent with the CTE of the zirconia so as to fabricate excellent artificial teeth of high coherency with zirconia substructure. Leucite crystal is used for the CTE of dental porcelain powder which should be controlled down 1×10-6/℃ less than the CTE(=10.5×10-6/℃) of zirconia. If fired in high-temperature, the ceramic powder is likely to discolor or decolorize by volatilization and reaction of pigment. It is recommended to fire in low-temperature and reduce firing time if possible.
The results of physical and chemical properties of rainbow™ Porcelain are measured in accordance with ISO and KFDA standard, and suitable to all of these standards.
1) CTE = coefficient of thermal expansion

Build up the shape of teeth with Dentin porcelain to harmonize with the adjacent teeth and make mamelon structure.
Liner porcelain is used to enhance the bonding strength and complement the shade of zirconia coping. LNB is used to increases opacity, whiteness and LNT is to maintain translucency. Mix Liner powder with Liner liquid to make creamy state.
Fabricate zirconia frame after milling, coloring and firing zirconia block.
Zirconia Abutment Zirconia Coping
Apply desired shade and translucency Liner on coping and fire it.If applying Liner for 2 times, conduct luster firing first and then fire in low-temperature, approximately 10 ℃ lower, to achieve a better bonding strength.
Apply LNT porcelain on zirconia coping uniformly After firing Liner
Bridge build-up

Bridge build-up
Build up Enamel and Translucent porcelain to match the shape and translucent of prosthesis. Build up Enamel and Translucent porcelain to fit with the shape and transparency.
If build-up is insufficient after 1st firing, perform additional build-up using Enamel and/or Translucent porcelain at the insufficient area.
After 2nd firing, complete the prosthesis by contouring, grinding, staining and glazing consecutively.
To emphasize fluorescent effect, apply Fluor-T(trans) porcelain before building up Enamel and Translucent porcelain.
