Chapter one

Alex and peter

Alex was a fifteen year old boy. His father was called peter and he worked as a

chef. his mother Mariah died when he was very young. Alex hated school and

hardly ever went outside, he had no friends and people bullied him all the time.

Peter worked at a restaurant as a chef, he loved to make food. It was very busyinside the restaurant today. Peter just entered to get ready for work when he saw

her. Her light brown hair, she was browsing the menu. Peter quickly rushed in

to the kitchen

It couldnt have been her Peter said as he got in to the kitchen. She promised

shed leave us alone. He finally convinced himself that it was just a look like

and got back to work.

Peter was driving in his car home from work singing along to the radio. It was

pitch black. He was about five minutes away from his house when she ran in

front his car. Peter braked hard and got out of the car.

What do you think your doing! he shouted. Passers by stared at him because

he was shouting at thin air and they had not seen the woman. The woman had

disappeared.

What do you want for tea son Peter said.

Im not really hungry so just some tomato soup please Alex replied.

Night. Peter went to his bedroom. He walked slowly to the window and

opened the curtains slightly. There she was it was Jane; it had been a while

since he had seen her. The last time he had seen her, his wife had been killed.

Peter picked up a picture. It was a frame of him, Alex and Mariah. Alex was

only a bay in his pushchair. Mariah had a big cheesy smile on, she had brown

eyes and brown hair which was always untidy, she didnt care what people

thought of and wasnt bothered that people gave her funny looks. It had been

thirteen years since she had been murdered and the murderer was stood outsidenow.

Chapter two

Unwanted visitors

Misery was coming to an end and Alex was just about ready for bed. When he

heard the door Knock, knock, and knock. Alex stood up of the sofa. There was a

knock on the door again. Peter came out of his bedroom putting a finger to his

lips and making a shushing noise Alex nodded. They stood in silence for a

while then they heard footsteps walk away.

I think we should go stop at your uncles peter said.

Quickly come on they ran out the door and to the car. Peter tried finding the

key for his car in the darkness. He dropped them and started panicking his face

was covered in sweat as he tried again. Alex could see figures moving towards

them. They were moving quickly.

Dad hurry up Alex said. He was beginning to get very worried the car door

unlocked and they jumped in quickly. Peter put the key in the ignition and they

drove of in to the night.

Dad why are you driving so quickly Alex asked. Were going to have an

accident

Those people will be able to get us if I drive slowly.

Really, Look up Alex. Alex looked out the window and saw four figures and

to Alexs disbelief they were flying.

There flying, who they are

Ill explain everything later I promise one figure came right next to Alexs

open window and Alex could see it was a woman. A red haired woman with

cuts and bruises all over her face showing she was a rough woman. Window she

reached her hand out and grabbed Alexs throat. Peter turned sharply right and

the womans hand left Alexs throat. Alex looked forwards there was nobody in

sight that could help. He looked back and he was relieved to see they were

gone.

Theyve gone Alex said.

Thank god

They were outside Peters brothers house. Peter hammered on the door he was

breathing heavily and his heart was beating fast. Jason opened the door.

Sweat dripped down Alexs forehead as he lay in bed He was to scared to sleep.

He had seen people flying in the air. One grabbed his neck with her rough

hands. He would be tired in the morning o thankfully his dad said that he couldhave the day of school tomorrow but that he had to go back on Tuesday.

So what are you going to do Jason asked.

I dont know Peter replied. Ill go back tomorrow and while Alex is at

school Tuesday Ill see if I can find her. Ill try and talk to her and sort it out.

Chapter three

Jane

It was Tuesday morning and Alex was sat in his dads car on his way to school.

Whats up son his dad asked noticing the miserable look on his sons face.

I hate school Alex replied.

I dont see why you would get bored sat at home all day his dad said. And

plus you said were scared youd be safer at school

I get bullied all the time and there is no point giving me my dinner money Ialways get it took of me I never feel safe at school Alex moaned.

he had said something to him but he couldnt stop shaking. He nearly ran out

the classroom when Samson clenched his fists and snarled like an angry dog,

then he screamed at him.

ENOUGH Mrs. White the history teacher jumped up from her desk she

shouted and pointed her finger at Samson. I have had enough of you causing

trouble in my class, GET OUT OF MY ROOM NOW

Piss of you daft cow Samson said. Everyone in the class gasped and startedgiggling as Samson stormed out of the room and ran down the corridor

Peter had been walking round for hours looking for Jane, but she was nowhere

in sight. After ten more minutes he had given up and gone back home, maybe

she had gone back He thought to himself.

The bell went. Alex put his equipment away in his bag and was about to leave

until Mrs. White put a hand on his shoulder.

Before you go to break Alex I want you to go upstairs to the ICT room and get

me my history textbook, here youll need the keys Alex grabbed the keys.

Whitewood school was a huge secondary school, there was three floors a frontplayground and a back playground with the field. The canteen was on the

second floor. Alex had no friends because he was always being bullied by

people because of his appearance (which he knew was awful. Not just because

he was ginger there were loads of ginger people who look great, but not Alex.

He was small and covered with spots he had a huge nose and massive ears like

dumbo the elephant which he was often called by people along with spotty,

ginger, nerd, and gay boy). Alex was not gay and found it annoying that people

called him it. Even teachers looked at him funny except Mrs. White, who hadblack hair and hazel eyes, she stopped people bullying me and He always got

good marks in history.

The ICT corridor was quiet. He turned the key in the lock and walked in to the

room. He walked over to the desk but the book wasnt there. Then a voice came

from behind him.

You looking for this she was sat on a chair with the book open on her lap.

book to the floor. She was a very beautiful woman with long light brown hair

she was tall and thin and the gorgeous smell of her perfume could be smelt from

miles away. My name is Jane, Jane River. She put her hand out for him to

shake, he took it and he couldnt believe how soft her hands were. Didnt his

dad say something about a woman called Jane?

My names Alex he took her hand. he was about to take his hand away but the

woman was not letting go. Excuse me Jane ouch Jane please let go your

hurting me JANE LET GO This woman was not just a pretty face she had

amazing strength. She picked him up and slammed him in to a wall.

Look in to my eyes kid she said in a calm soft voice. Relax she said calm

down do not struggle Alex stopped struggling and looked in to the eyes of the

beautiful and mysterious woman. I know you dont know yet but youre

something special

I am Alex said in a dreary voice.

Yeah you are so thats why I have to get rid of you. Alex just rocked his head

back and forwards.

Hello anyone in here, I heard voices let me in.

We cant stay here Jane said. Alex looked up and then everything went black.

Chapter four

Crystal city

Peter stormed in to whitewood school. His son had not returned from school and

he was worried not about the problem with bullies. But the Jane problem, Mrs.

White came up to him

have you seen Alex he asked breathing slowly.

Last time I saw him I asked him to get my book for me he never came back

and neither did my book she added. Dont worry she smiled I bet he is

fine. He was in an argument with another student he probably got a bit upset

and wanted to be alone she patted him on the shoulder. Good day Mr.

Parkinson she walked out the school. Peter sat on a chair and put his head in

his hands.

Alex was sat tied to a chair in a unfamiliar room. It was definitely not a room in

his school. How he got there he didnt know. One minute he was in the ICT

suite staring in to Janes eyes and now he was here. The room was full of

shelves of drawers the shelves were covered in books and there were papers and

bits of junk around the room. After what felt like days the door finally opened

and Jane walked in the room.

Where are we? Alex shouted untie me Jane laughed harshly walked up to

Alex and slapped him viciously round the face. AAAARRRGGGHH Alex s

cheeks was stung madly. He started screaming abuse at Jane but it did not

bother her at all. She raised a knife high in the air ready to bring it down on

Alex.

Goodbye Alex

The door burst open and a pale woman with hair as black as the night sky. The

woman pushed her hand forwards and the knife flew out of Janes hand.

LEAVE HIM she shouted.

Vivian Jane said. You know you cant kill me, but She looked at Alex. Ill

get you one day Vivian. this isnt over yet Jane vanished.

The ropes that were tied round Alex magically unwrapped from around the

chair and fell to the floor. He did not move he sat still gazing at the stranger

who had saved him. Are you going to stand Vivian asked. Alex still stayed

where he was. Vivian sighed okay she went over to the shelves and startedbrowsing at the books, sometimes she would pick things look at them and throw

them on the floor, she had put a few bits of paper in to her pocket. You know

she said turning round to face Alex. I wont bite you Im not hungry. yet Alex

slowly stood up and opened his mouth.

Thank you he said for saving my life, I dont mean to be rude but why are

you so pale

Because I am a vampire she replied and smiled. A vampire Alex said.

You dont believe me she asked. Alex walked to the door and grabbed the

handle. Well thanks again but I have to go my father will be a bit worried He

pushed the handle down but it wouldnt budge.

You will not be going through that door Vivian said.

Excuse me Alex replied. She smiled showing her teeth and to Alex s horror

her two sharp pointy fangs.

But vampires arent real, and its sunny vampires dont like sun.

Thats only the stories Alex I am not evil and I am not going to hurt you

So what are you afraid of what can you do why are you here why am I hereshe put her hand out and said

You will have to leave your old life behind and start a new one in our world,

and Im not afraid of anything

why would I go with you youre a complete stranger. Alex asked

You dont have to, but you would risk losing everyone you love Alex thought

about it. He would be probably be safer with this woman even though she was a

complete stranger. Vivian put her hand out and Alex took it.

Peter was still in whitewood school refusing to leave until he had found his son.

A woman with light brown hair and a white dress came up to him and grabbed

him. The woman at the reception desk jumped up

What are you doing Jane pointed her finger at the receptionist and the

receptionist burst in to flames.

JANE peter screamed.

Hi peters long times no see dont worry your sons fine. she put him to sleep

and flew up with peter. She flew up smashed through the roof and went out in to

the sky with peter. I will not have your son messing this up for me and you can

say goodbye to that school she waved her hand down at the school and the

building exploded. There was no more whitewood school. She flew of with

carrying peter who was fast asleep.

Alex was walking round the room that he had just appeared in. As soon as he

had touched Vivians hand the old room had soon disappeared.

So where are we now another country or what he asked.

Country the vampire smiled like I said were in another world

and what would the name of this world be petal Vivian replied.

What sort of a name is petal for a world?

I didnt name it so dont ask me. The city were in now is called crystal city,

youll like it here.

Alex really missed his father but crystal city was fantastic. It wasnt normal like

his old home, but the things here and the people here were amazing. He no

longer was teased for his looks and he no longer needed to worry about being

chased. The city was busy and crowded with people. There were plenty of shops

with some odd looking things behind the windows. He didnt have any money

to buy anything and he wouldnt ask Vivian for any, but he was happy to justbrowse. He slept in Vivians mansion he hadnt asked where shed got the

money from to get such a big place but he enjoyed staying there. He loved how

grand and posh it was inside. He had seen a huge building called the great

library which seemed to have a lot of people going in and out. There were no

vehicles here and they had no TVs or music players, however they did have

lights. He loved it here but he did hope to go back when the problem was over.

A hand grabbed his shoulder. It was a woman with blonde hair and she had

crystal blue hair. She had a lot of jewelry on and a ring on each finger apartfrom her marriage finger.

Another two days had passed in this unusual world. But Alex was not allowed

to touch any of the stuff bought from the shops. Alex was laid on his bed staring

at the ceiling. He had forgot about his old life and the bullies, he had even

forgot about Mrs. white and his father.

Alex loved the breakfast that Vivian made. There was bacon, sausages, eggs,

fried bread, tomatoes, and mushrooms. It tasted wonderful. Vivian could eat

anything she wanted to she could even drink anything but she needed at least

five drinks of blood which to her tasted nice but Alex did not like thought of

drinking blood. Vivian did not kill people when she drank from them either, she

knocked them out and sucked their blood, the mark left by a vampire is very

small so no one ever noticed.

Today Alex we are going to the crystal cave the breakfast had been eaten and

there wasnt a crumb left on the plates.

gave her home Vivian said smiled and walked out of the dining room.

Peter was tied on to a bed ropes around his arms and his legs. Jane teleported in

to the room (she preferred teleporting to using doors) she walked over to peter

and sat on the bed next to him.

What do you want from me he asked. You promised you wouldnt see me

again after you killed my wife.

I know but that was fourteen years ago and I cant let your son get involved.

ropes. he pushed his hands forward and Jane went flying in to the wall. She

stood up and laughed. still got your power then after you said you would neveruse magic again

that was fourteen years ago he said. He sent a lightning bolt at her but Jane

opened her mouth and sucked It in. She blew back out and the whole room

shook and knocked peter off his feet.

gas was going through his body. The pink gas was love gas, Peter would listen

to anything Jane said.

Vivian knocked on the door. There was a sign on the door saying crystal cave.

The door opened and a blonde woman opened it. Alex had seen her the other

day when she had grabbed his shoulder.

Hello Vivian and Alex I have been expecting you, come in. The house was

nothing like a cave but it did have a cave sort of smell Alex thought examining

the house.

So Loretta Vivian said. you know why were here have you got the others

ready yet.

Who are the others Alex asked.

there people just like you Loretta replied.

what do you mean just like me

Ill tell you the story in time but for now you must pick your powers.

my powers Alexs face lit up.

yes you may pick three. Loretta put a glass on the table and said I want you

to write down on paper what powers you want and put them in to the glass

Dont you already know what I want Alex asked.

Alex thought for a while about what powers to choose. After five minutes he

had on one card FIRE, after A further four minutes he had FLY. Finally after

seven minutes he wrote down CONTROL ANIMALS. Alex put the paper in the

glass and watched as Loretta added funny looking things to the glass. She cut

leaves of a bizarre looking plant, put in some colored gems, added a feather

which she said was off a red raven, if there was such thing. And then she put

some yellow liquid in to the glass and then she put her hand over the glass. A

dark purple gas went pouring from her hand and in to the glass. The gas cleared

and there was now a brown like liquid inside the glass.

here Loretta said giving the glass out to Alex. Drink up

You want me to drink this! Alex said wrinkling his nose in disgust. It smellslike puke and looks like puke.

Okay if you do not want your powers Im fine by that! Loretta said you saw

me make it its not poisonous.

I didnt know what anything was that you put in there Alex said but he did not

think that this woman would poison him; if they wanted him dead they bothcould have killed him. So he raised the glass to his lips and drank the revolting

looking drink. Surprisingly it tasted quite nice however revolting it looked, Alex

was disappointed when the glass was empty. Now what he said. Loretta put a

small cat on the table.

One of your powers is to control animals she said.

Where did the cat come from Alex asked.

Never mind that, I want you to talk to this inside your head. When you getused to talking inside your head youll be able to try speaking normally. Talk to

it and think of nothing else Alex tried telling the cat to jump on to Vivians

shoulder but the cat wouldnt budge. Alex got impatient and tried kicking the

cat but was knocked back when Loretta but her hand up. Alex got up of the

floor rubbing his bruised elbow.

What was that for Loretta stroked the cat behind the ear. Do not kick the cat,

just try telling it to jump of the table she said. Alex was trying very hard in his

head.

jump, jump, JUMP the cat moved looked up at Alex and jumped of the table

still looking at Alex. Okay Alex was saying in his head jump on to Vivians

shoulder. Alex was delighted to see the cat jump up on to Vivians shoulder.

well done Vivian said clapping her hands. The cat ran out the room.

Youll get used to your powers soon Loretta said.

This is all a bit confusing Alex said. I mean I was a normal boy in a normalschool, then I get kidnapped by a vampire.

excuse me Vivian said. You werent kidnapped Alex ignored her and

carried on.

Now Ive got powers

Yeah I Understand that it will be a bit confusing, youll get used to our world

probably some day.

Chapter six

Phoenix

It had been a while since Peter had last seen his son but he was under Janesspell, which made him fall in love with her and whatever she told him to. She

had told him to forget about Alex and he had no choice and his son was

forgotten. Peter was cooking his wife dinner (roast beef and vegetables) while

Jane was in the living room talking to some friends that Peter didnt know.

Peter sighed he knew there was something wrong but he couldnt figure it out.

He brought the dinner in to the living room and passed it to Jane.

Anything else he asked.

no thanks love she replied. Sit down she said sweetly and smiled. Meet my

friends thats Louis Ive known him since I was at school, at the moment he

works at a bar. Peter shook his hand Louis had ghost like eyes, a very thin

mouth and he had black curly hair. And over here is Bella, Bella gets in to a lot

of fights Peter held out his hand to shake. Bella but she refused to take it. She

had long red hair and she had cuts and bruises all over her face. Her face

seemed familiar to him because he had seen her when she came close to Alexs

open window. and finally Jane said we have sheik, shes a strong fighter and agreat musician.

nice to meet you sheik said. We have heard a lot about you. She had blonde

hair and blue eyes she looked very pretty and stylish.

we are starting a group to defeat people like Loretta and Vivian, our clan name

is phoenix after the rare and powerful bird. Weve got a necklace with aphoenix on to show you belong to us Jane stood up and put the necklace over

his head. I am the leader of our clan o course and if you want to make a decision

like inviting someone to the clan. You must ask me first. Bella stood up

I think we should go straight for Vivian I have an idea where she might be at

the moment.

she lives in crystal city in the big mansion and she has got the boy, she will be

getting him and the other six people ready.

meeting up in the black widow forest. Sheik shook her head

no and even if there was a meeting we wouldnt stand a chance against all the

vampires. so Jane said lets go to crystal city she said.

They flew in the air until they got over crystal city. They landed on the ground

in front of Vivians house.

are you sure she lives here Louis asked.

Yes Jane replied.

Alex was sat in one of the mansions many rooms getting a cat to rollover until

he heard loud noises in the garden. He went over to the window looked out and

saw people stood looking up at the window.

DAD, DAD WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE Louis jumped up and in tothe air and through his window. Louis smacked Alex and knocked him to the

and the goblins could not move their arms the spears stayed in the air. One of

the goblins spears snapped in half and he jumped out the way watching his

friend with the spear still held still in the air. Vivian moved her hands and the

spear dropped down and plunged in to the goblins stomach.

The other goblin screamed as his friend lay dying on the floor his dark red

blood spilling out on to the floor. Vivian walked up to the other goblin and

pointed her finger at his mouth. There was a bang as a blue light hit the goblin

in the face knocking him backwards. The goblin tried opening his mouth but

Vivian had silenced him. Vivian knelt down opened her mouth wide and sank

about one hundred and twenty vampires. Vivian flew down and joined the rest

while the other vampires stayed in the air flying in circles. The enemy came

closer. The phoenix clan had banshees, pixies, werewolves, trolls and

fireworks. ( which looked like normal humans but with their hands covered in

fire and there hair covered in fire). Vivian could not see Jane. Or sheik or Bella.

The enemy had not expected anyone to know they were here. Everyone charged

out arrows and magic flying everywhere.

the middle of the city she could hear the battle going on in the distance.

came slithering out, Bella tried to attack it but the snake wrapped itself around

her and squeezed tight.

Greg Appleton screeched with rage. The ground near him was covered in goblin

blood he had been ditched by the phoenix clan. One of the giant bats swooped

down before Gregg could run or jump out the way and picked him up with its

razor sharp teeth and threw him to the ground. The remaining goblins saw that

their leader was dead ad fled as fast as they could. Wolf the leader of the

hunters stomped on the floor and smoke covered him and his hunters. When the

smoke cleared the hunters had disappeared.

Chapter nine

Lynne

The fairies that had died in the battle were taken to the lake were they sunk to

the bottom. One of the bats had been shot down was taken back with the

vampires. The dead goblins, hunters and members of the phoenix clan were

burned.

I cannot believe you all ran! The phoenix clan were all sat with their heads intheir hands. Bella stood up

they were already expecting us

I knew I should have made someone guard Lorettas cage.

so now what peter said.

well they have giant bats, and I think I know someone who can get us some

dragons. Sheik entered the room and saw everyones miserable faces.

Vivian, Loretta, six of the rainbow clan and Lynne queen of the fairies were all

sat down at the dinner table in the castle. The table was full of delicious foods.

Different types of meats and sandwiches, vegetables and pies.

so and everyone covered there ears at the deafening screech. The rainbow clan

were in a line inside the castle in a empty room.

I want to see Alex first please Lynne Alex stepped forwards and Lynnewaved her hand. Three goblins appeared. dont worry there not real Alex sent

a fireball at one of the goblins and it disappeared. Then he flew up as high as he

could go in the room and aimed his bow an arrow. He Fired a flaming arrow at

one of the goblins and then that disappeared. He landed back on the ground and

the next goblin came charging at him with a sword in its hand. Alex pulled out

his sword and battled with the last goblin. The swords clashed together the

goblin was pretty quick then the goblin tried swinging low but so Alex jumped

up dodged the attack, swung his sword and swiped the goblins head off.

Chennai stepped forwards and looked at the goblins. All three goblins charged

so she transformed in to one of them the goblins stopped confused. She breathed

ice on all the goblins and they all froze to death and disappeared.

Phoebe was next. She pulled out a small knife and using her super speed power

ran faster than lighting round the goblins the goblins couldnt see her she was

going so fast. She brought her knife in to one of the goblins and it vanished. She

then went inside one of the goblins body controlling it she made it stab the other

goblin. She stopped controlling the last one pushed her hand forward and sentthe goblin flying out an open window.

Michelle froze the goblins and they all stood still. she let out a banshees

scream and all the goblins vanished.

Bryan ran up to one of the goblins and smashed his skull with a fire fist. But one

of the goblins snuck up behind him. The goblins disappeared before it could

hurt him and Lynne told Bryan to step back.

got to him first and pointed the swords at marks throat. The goblins vanished

and Michelle you will all be going.

to look after the baby while Jane went out to get more members for the phoenix

Alex of course. Alex was part of the rainbow clan it was normal person he was

trying to remember then the spell would never break. He picked up the baby

and flew out the window to look for Alex.

would like to go Alex reached in to his pocket but Michelle grabbed his arm.

ah well then he said and rubbed his chin. He whistled. And four other hunters

sent a wind tornado at them two of them went high up in the air and died when

they hit the ground. The last hunter grabbed Alex Chennai raised her hands in

the air. A big sharp icicle appeared above the hunter and dropped down on him.

Wow that was quite exciting phoebe said as they walked on. how far left

out in front of them. It had muscular arms and its hands were covered with

she said I see the other two failed the task She looked at crunch and smiled I

see your doing well on your animal control. Alex told crunch to wave. Crunch

waved. well done Vivian said clapping.

so what do we do now Michelle asked Vivian. There is rumors that goblins

are going to attack Silverstone tomorrow at midday, we will go and stop them

so be ready to set of at six am.

Alex was alone with phoebe. To start of he didnt really think much of her but

he really liked her now. She had beautiful blue eyes and long brown hair. They

talked for a while and Chennai walked in we best get some sleep we have to be

up at Six. He was annoyed that she had walked in he finally thought that he

no and stayed there? She was sort of glad she dint because she liked it here.

perfectly. She saw a hooded figure move closer to them. She waved her hand

down and landed in front of Vivian. The bat spoke in Vivians mind And To

Alex it was like listening to a normal conversation.

The goblins here slaughtered everyone who lives here, most of the bodies were

taken with the goblins but the ones that were left were eaten by gobgulls.

(Grey birds that had red eyes and razor sharp teeth) Vivian spoke back to the bat

tell the vampires to go to the black widow forest, we are going to attack the

phoenix clan tomorrow night. They all moved on and the cloaked person

followed not saying a word and ignoring any questions they asked. Michelle

said it must have been a woman because of the way she was walking and the

shape of her body. The hooded person vanished without saying anything.

PETER Jane screamed loudly. Peter had gone and so had Curtis. Bella and

sheik were stood in the corner they did not know what to say. Get the bansheeand tell her to track down peter Bella walked out the room. Sheik walked over

to Jane and put an arm round her shoulders

Its okay she said. Jane pushed her arm of and vanished from the room.

Bella went in to the dark cellar were the banshee was waiting. She opened her

mouth to speak but something heavy landed on the back of her head knocking

her to the floor. The banshee looked up and a knife flew straight at her heart.

you go with him. you will find your son at the black widow forest, but you

know how dangerous that forest can be without a vampire, will you come with

They had been in the forest for hours, they were the most important vampires

were in the meeting while loads of others flew in the air.

We have to go to their fortress and tear them limb from limb

knew how much people hated them. Was it a trap? She told the others to stay

the cellar. she would kill the banshee and capture Jane that way they could leave

with out having to fight everyone else. Banshees could sense it when death

happened nearby and would have woke up screaming the house down. Banshees

prefer dark places so Vivian knew she would be in the cellar. But when she gotdown the banshee was laid on the floor dark purple blood covered the floor

around her. Something wasnt right. The door was open and the banshee was

dead, someone had wanted them to come in.

Jane was dead to the world. Vivian pulled out a pink bottle of potion and tipped

it in to her mouth. She just to make sure she wouldnt wake up while they were

getting her out of the house. Vivian pulled out another potion and Jane was

trapped in a magical cage. Vivian flew out the room the cage floating alongside

her. They flew on for a while until one of the vampires screamed, Vivian lookedround and saw a vampire with an arrow sticking out of his heart.

Chapter eleven

Silent hero

The vampires started panicking and flying round in circles. Vivian searched

round trying to find the person who had shot down the vampire. Hunters,

goblins and fireworks jumped out from behind the trees and out of the bushes.Arrows and fire balls came flying up. Vampires started falling. Vivian

screeched loudly and all the vampires swooped down to attack the assassins.

Glen veal shouted dont worry Ive called the phoenix clan over. Vivian

threw a knife at his heart, he screamed in pain but Vivian was shocked when he

pulled it out and then he turned round and crept away.

The phoenix clan came marching along. Bella at the front holding a blue lacka

she launched it at the cage and the powder sprinkled on to it making the cage

fade away. Jane vanished as soon as it had faded and appeared next to Bella.Things were not looking good for the vampires but there were thousands of

them here they would not be killed. A fireball hit Vivian in the stomach making

her fall to the floor. A goblin jumped on her and raised his sword in the air. She

blew at him and he went flying away from her. The hooded woman that had

followed Vivian in to the forest earlier came over and stood up above Vivian.

She held out her hand but did not speak. Vivian took it and tried looking at herface that was hidden behind the hood. Whoever this woman was had to be

someone inside the phoenix clan so that they could get in and kill the banshee.

No burglars could have got in and done it thank you Vivian said. The hooded

woman turned her head and raised her hands in the air. Everything went white

and everything was spinning.

Vivian your back, thank you Chennai said. We were fighting some of those

firework people but we dint do to well and and Alex was kidnapped. Then some

goblins flew down on those gobgulls and took phoebe away. Vivian was

confused and so were all the other vampires. That silent woman had saved them

all she really was a silent hero, but how had she done it. At the moment they

were other things to worry about. She was going to ask the stranger to help them

find Alex and Phoebe but she had gone again. They were out of the black

widow forest. Vivian shouldnt have left them on their own here the black

widow forest was a dangerous place, but taking them with her would have been

worse. There Was a lot on her mind. Who had opened the door and killed the

banshee who was he hooded woman and who was glen veal. And now there wasPhoebe and Alex.

Alex was sat tied to a chair in a strange place this wasnt the first time this had

happened. The fireworks that had kidnapped him had been torturing him,

burning his skin and whipping him with fire whips. Crunch was also tied up on

a chair next to him.

Could you cut the ropes Alex asked. Crunch was about to reply but the door

burst open. A firework came up to him and blindfolded him. He heard more

footsteps in the room and then a voice.

AAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH SPLASH. Deeper and deeper underneath

the water Bella could not swim. She was useless underwater. She felt herself

being pushed and then she shot upwards out of the water and on to the nice dry

ground. She stood up and looked under the water to see what had saved her. It

was a merman he was swimming around in circles. He swam up to the surface

and kissed Bella. He let go and stared in to Bellas eyes

Wait But the merman had gone. She looked up She had fallen from high up.

She had tried flying when she was falling but it did not work. She jumped up to

fly and it wasnt working. That was strange she couldnt fly because she was

powers. Bella screamed. Things were not looking to good for her at the

The merman that had drained the powers of Bella kept swimming. Looking for

another victim to drain the powers. He was in the Sprite city. And he saw a

victim it did not look like a fairy. It was a vampire. And not only a vampire it

was a vampire queen. Yes Vivian was very powerful he would get loads of

power of her. He sucked in and Vivian came flying in to the water, He went topush her out she shot out the water and stood up quickly. She knew what

mermaids could do, she drew her knife as the merman jumped out the water. He

kissed her she brought her knife in to the mermans heart. His lips came from

Vivians lips. He looked down at the stab wound. He laughed.

Ive got plenty of power now the wound started to heal and the blood came

pouring back in to his body. Mermans he floated over to Vivian ( They had no

legs so they floated over the ground) Vivian tried setting him on fire but nothing

would come out. The merman laughed and spat a ball of water at her, It

knocked her of her feet.

ha, ha ,ha the vampire queen beaten by a mermaid Vivian stood up. She was a

good fighter and she had her teeth and her nails. The merman jumped at her and

swung his fish tail. Vivian ducked and swiped her nails. The merman screamed

in pain as blood came out of his tail. he stomped on the floor and sharp icicles

came sprouting out the ground. Vivian front flipped over the icicles and kicked

the merman square in the face. The merman fell backwards. Blood was coming

out of his tail and his nose. To get her powers back the merman had to die. The

merman jumped up he went to smack Vivian, she grabbed his fist and smacked

him in the stomach knocking the air out of him. He swiped at her feet she

jumped up dodging his foot and smacked him round the face. She then brought

her teeth in to his neck. She was draining all the blood from the merman. The

merman went dizzy. He lifted up his arm at the lake and it all rose up and came

charging at Vivian. The water knocked her of the merman. The merman lifted

both his arms. Two mermaids jumped out of the water. They circled Vivian the

merman decided to stay further back and let the mermaids try. The mermaids

came forward and tried swiping at Vivian. Vivian knocked one of them of her

feet. While her back was turned one of the mermaids punched her back. Vivian

turned grabbed the mermaid and head butted her, she didnt stop head butting

her. The mermaids face and hair was covered in blood. Vivian finished her of

and slit her neck with her nails. The mermaid fell to the ground. The other

mermaid grabbed Vivians neck from behind. The merman pointed his finger at

her a red light came flying from his finger and hit Vivian square in the face. The

merpeople jumped back in to the water they left the dead mermaid and Vivianlaying on the ground.

to the dinner table so people had started to worry. They walked around for ages

until they walked near the lake and Phoebe shouted

there Chennai said look They ran over to Vivians body. She opened hereyes slowly. She stood up staring at the blue lake which lit up in the night. The

water started to ripple.

Its a trap Vivian said they wanted you to come find me. run back to the

castle and get help. Chennai and phoebe ran back they heard a splashing noise

as fifty merpeople jumped out the water.

Quickly Alex said.

shell be okay Phoebe said she is a very powerful woman. They got back tothe castle and Loretta was stood outside waiting for them.

Quick get help merpeople, Vivians in danger. Loretta quickly shouted for

everyone to come. They ran back to the lake and saw that Vivian was still up

fighting. The fairies all charged at the merpeople. Chennai, Michelle, phoebe,

Bryan and mark were all in the battle. Everyone had noticed that she was not

using her magic. Some of the merpeople had jumped back in to the water and

some of them had been killed. There was about twelve left. Loretta sent a dark

purple tornado at the merpeople and it killed eight of them. Lynne the queen

fairy sent a lightning bolt down form the sky which killed three more. There

was only one remaining merperson and it was the one that had drained Vivians

powers. No one could see him sneaking behind Lynne. His hand went red and

he touched Lynne on the back. She stopped breathing. She fell to her knees. She

spoke.

what the queen fairy said when she wanted a new queen and the person she

Seven

Normally sprite was a busy city. Shops were full up of people and the streets

were crowded, there were messengers normally flying in the air to give their

letters. But no one wanted to go outside their queen had just died. Lynne was

the most generous queen sprite had ever had. She was in a battle when she had

been made queen. Goblins had attacked the city and Lynnes sister had been

killed she had named Lynne to be queen. In a weeks time Lynnes funeralwould take place in the castles gardens.

Bella woke up. She had been sleeping on the streets. She got up and tested her

powers. She tried to freezing the lamppost. She jumped up with joy when she
