Geo. Features Mostly around the equator Rain Forests cover approximately 6% of

Earth’s land surface There are 3 main layers to the Rain Forest

1. Canopy: Top most layer, 25-45 meters high, home to birds and monkeys.

2. Understory: Middle layer, home to some amphibians and reptiles like snakes and chameleons.

3. Ground: Self explanatory, layer where most insects live. Decomposers of all kinds also call this layer home.

seasons Almost all rain forests are near the

are found in Tropical Rain Forests Plants live in warm, humid environment that

allows a huge variety of plants rare in more mild climates

Plants are spread out between 3 main layers of the Rain Forest

Plants consist of ferns, broadleaved shrubs, dwarf bombs, carnivores plants, orchids, strangler fig, and others
