It is my pleasure to present our new Marhaba which will reveal you our hotel’s future look.
I have to admit that 2010 was a very busy and exciting year for us. The Radisson Blu Hotel, formerly known as the Kuwait SAS Hotel has served and delivered its high standards to its guests for more than 30 years. We ended 2010 celebrating our 30th anniversary which was followed by closing the hotel’s main building for a million dollar redevelopment project.
The hotel many years of existence also welcomed many general managers to the hotel, and the above picture shows all the Radisson Blu Kuwait General Managers team over the past 30 years, who managed to meet again during Rezidor Hotel Group meeting in Sweden.
As we are all aware, Kuwait has seen great
changes over the past three decades. In order to keep up with Kuwait’s rapid development, increased numbers of competitors entering the market as well as higher expectations of travelers we decided to go through a complete revamp and give our hotel a fresh, modern and sophisticated look.
Part of our property remains open. Our facilities located outside the main building including the Al Hashemi Ballroom, our six meeting rooms, the Viking Club, Al Boom steak and seafood and Rangoli all day dining restaurants plus our laundry service all remain open and are ready to serve you, our guests at all times.

Staying true to the Radisson Blu brand’s standards, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Kuwait offers three distinctive styles of décor: Naturally Cool, Relax and NY Mansion House.
The hotel will offer 194 rooms, 6 Junior suites, 23 Executive suites and 1 Presidential suite. The rooms will be equipped with facilities and amenities expected of a first class hotel.
The new lobby combines neutral, contemporary Scandinavian style with lavish and rich Arabic design. The lobby’s marble floors, ceiling chandeliers and glass walls together with modern furnishings will provide a high class comfort and look.

The reopening of the hotel’s main building will also reveal new faces of the well known and recognized restaurants – Al Bustan and Peacock. The all day dining Al Bustan restaurant will serve international cuisine, both buffet-style and a la carte. The modern furniture, contemporary design and glass walls overlooking a terrace will make it a relaxing and enjoyable place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Kuwait can host anything from a brief meeting for 10 to a lavish event for 1,000 people. The crown jewel of the hotel’s event facilities will always remain Al Hashemi Grand Ballroom located inside a wooden ship, however we will be delighted to showcase our brand new 360sq. meter Ballroom, with 3 adjacent meeting rooms. The Ballroom will be able to accommodate up to 200 persons, will be equipped with a modern audio visual equipment. Its partition will enable to divide it into three smaller areas and additional three adjacent rooms located next to it will give more flexibility with set up arrangements.

The Peacock Chinese restaurant at the Radisson Blu Hotel is the overall winner in Kuwait of the Service Hero Award 2010 We are proud to announce that its Peacock restaurant won first place, in the fine dining restaurants
category of the Service Hero2010 Kuwait awards – a prestigious referendum powered by consumers in Kuwait. Peacock was the chosen winner from 27 different competitors. Also our Al Boom – steak and seafood restaurant was amongst the short listed (top 3) nominees.
Peacock was also proudly announced as the Country Wide Winner amongst the winners in all the 15 different categories beating heavyweight companies
like Mercedes cars, Lexus cars, Wataniya Airways & Ikea. The awards ceremony was held on 09 January 2011 in Kuwait. Service Hero adheres to ESOMAR principles (the European Society of Opinion and Market Research). The 2010 award attracted 8,743 votes based on 6 key service dimensions: behavior, location, speed, product quality, reliability, and value to price.

Al Boom one of the nominees for the Service Hero 2010 will not stop surprising either regular or new guests. This restaurant located on board of a traditional Arabic Dhow is one of its kind in Kuwait and has been attracting VIP’s, politicians and celebrities for many years now.
It is an ideal place to impress loved ones or business partners while indulging in a charcoal-grilled steak or seafood, accompanied by a full salad & Mezzeh bar and finished with a plated desert, Arabic Dates & Coffee served in the Captain Diwaniya. Opulent yet traditional with its gold-leaf décor, the Al Boom restaurant gives a unique legendary vibe to any dinner celebration.
We have also added a Starboard café which is located outside on the “star board” – the right side of the Al Boom restaurant. This café terrace serves hot and cold drinks as well as sandwiches and sweets and is an ideal place to be during a sunny afternoon or warm evening.
The Rangoli all day dining restaurant serves international dishes. Its unique design and ambience make it an ideal place for a dinner for two, family celebration or business meeting. The restaurant has also private sections so if you wish not to be disturbed or heard by others this place will be a good choice for it. We will be running several promotions and theme night this year, so please stay in touch to be updated from the upcoming events.
We are also pleased to announce that we have introduced a take away menu. So now you can make your home a fine dining restaurant where our culinary team will be pleased to prepare for you a tempting range of salads, starters, light snacks, cakes, pastries and freshly baked bread to take away from the Rangoli restaurant or Viking Club.
The Viking club has been a part of the hotel for last 20 years and is renowned as being a family club. The club offers its guests extensive leisure facilities including two swimming pools, beach area, beach volleyball court, squash courts, fitness center, aerobics studio, table tennis, massage rooms, Jacuzzi, sauna and steam bath.
We have been running squash and volleyball tournaments where winners are selected monthly. We have also introduced new classes including Aikido for Children or Shape&Tone for ladies, which in combination with our current classes provide a reach fitness program for both genders and all age groups.
We will be organizing the biannual fun run and everybody is more than welcome to participate. There is always something going on in the Viking Club, so please request one of our flyers and stay up to date with the health and fitness events.
