What is Radio ?

?

Page 3: Radio

Radio Is ....

Radio is a technology that is used for the transmission of signals by means of modulation and

electromagnetic radiation (electromagnetic waves). These waves pass and propagate through the air and can also propagate through

the vacuum of space, because these waves do not require a carrier medium (such as air molecules)

HISTORY

Guglielmo Marconi (1874 – 1937) in Bologna, Italy. This radio invertor private

education from a teacher. In 1894 when the age of twenty, Marconi read the experiments

conducted by Heinrich Herzt a few years earlier. These experiment clearly

demonstrate the exitence of electromgnetic waves are invisible to the eye, moving through the air at the speed of sound

RADIO AM

Radio AM (amplitude modulation) works on the principle of radio waves and waves modulate audio. Both of these gelombang both have a constant amplitude. But this process then cahge the amplitude modulation wave conductor (radio) in accordance with the amplitude of the audio waveform

Page 7: Radio

RADIO FMRadio FM (frequency modulation) works on a similar principle to the AM radio, namely by modulating radio waves (conductor) with the audio waveform. Only, the FM

radio of this modulation process causes a change in

frequency

RADIO INTERNET

The discovery of the Internet began to change the transmission of analog signals used by

conventional radio. Internet radio (also known as web radio, streaming radio and e-radio) works by transmitting sound waves through the Internet. The principle works

almost the same as conventional radio waves (short wave), by using streaming media in the

form of a continuous wave

Funtionradio has several functions, namely as a

means of information, education, influence the masses, and entertainment. Related to the function of entertainment, performing radio affective needs - such as emotional and aesthetic aesthetic experience mass.

Fatigue and exhaustion can be lost by listening entertainment programs

broadcast by a radio station

RADIO SECTION1. DETECTOR

2. MIXER

3. AMPLIFIER

Page 11: Radio

DETECTORIn a radio receiver system, the sound is emitted through the air from a transmitter station was transformed into a first-

implus implus electricity. Then the electrical impulses were amplified and inserted into the wave (carrier) were so

radiated by the transmitting antenna. Carrier wave in the which an electric impulses emitted into the water and

has been shaped wave radio frequency electromagnetic waves or RF waves

Page 12: Radio

MIXERMixer is also a form of existing circuit in a radio receiver. The main task of this section is the vibration

frequency of the antenna amplifier

AMPLIFIERSeries of amplifiers not only contained in the tape plane recorder or television alone, but on any radio receiver be

found this series. The purpose of this amplifier circuit is to strengthen signal results; low frequency (audio) to be

heard and enjoyed her voice through the speaker. Below is an image amplifier circuit.

ADVANTAGES

1. A universal medium. Can be enjoyed at home, at work, and while driving. Most people listen to the radio at one time or another during the day.

2. Permits you to target your advertising dollars to the market most likely to respond to your offer.

3. Permits you to create a personality for your business using only sounds and voices.

4. Free creative help is usually available. 5. Rates can generally be negotiated. 6. Least inflated medium. During the past ten years, radio rates have gone

up less than other media

Page 15: Radio

DISADVANTAGES

1. Because radio listeners are spread over many stations, to totally saturate your market you have to advertise simultaneously on many stations.

2. Listeners cannot refer back to your ads to go over important points.

3. Ads are an interruption to the entertainment. Because of this, radio ads must be repeated to break through the listener's "tune out" factor.

4. Radio is a background medium. Most listeners are doing something else while listening, which means your ad has to work hard to be listened to and understood.

5. Advertising costs are based on ratings which are approximations based on diaries kept in a relatively small fraction of a region's homes.

6. Not as fast as using a phone; could take a little bit 7. The line could get fuzzy, or not clear
