Children’s House One
Dear Children’s House One Families,
We greatly appreciate your patience, understanding, and support during
the transitions that have been happening in Children’s house 1. We have
made some big changes both in the expectations of the children as well as
the classroom layout and lessons. It took the children only a few days to
adjust to their new surroundings and teachers and everyone has been
settling in nicely and we are starting to see great things happening in the
classroom!
During the month of September we presented materials that help categorize Living vs Non-Living, Plant vs
Animals, Animal Coverings/habitats, Land, Water, Air, our 5 Senses, magnets, the globe, and the seasons. We
also celebrated our International Day of Peace.
We welcome this upcoming month of October! Ms. Carmelita introduced
some new lessons such as the letter sound bags and the children are really
enjoying practicing their letter sounds with this new lesson. We are looking
forward to our visit to Remick’s Pumpkin Patch on October 10th. We will be
celebrating Liam, Landon & Zoey’s birthdays this month. We are also getting
excited for Halloween and our Trick-or-Treating outing on October 31st!
Please feel free to reach out to any of the Casa 1 teachers through the Class Dojo App or email Sarah directly
Hello Everyone, It is crazy to believe how fast September flew by! We are so excited to move into the month of October. In the Month of October we will be saying goodbye to Bennett as he moves up to Preschool. We will also be welcoming Lucy to the Toddlers from the Transition room. This month we have one birthday. Colton will be turning 2 on October 6th. Happy Birthday Colton. In the month of October we will be learning about Mysteries in the Sky, Water, On Land, and In the Trees. These topics will be covering animals, transportation, weather, and Halloween Fun!
Also in the Month of October we will be learning how to wash our dishes after meals. The children already do a great job cleaning their meal spot by dumping their leftover food into the trash and bringing their plates, cups and silverware to the sink. We are very excited to start practicing this practical life skill. In the Month of September we talked about "All About Me". We talked about Our Emotions, Parts of The Body, and Our Five Senses. We learned about the color red and what objects and materials around us in our everyday life that we see the color red. We learned the letters A and C. We discussed the sounds each letter makes. We identified objects, materials, and names that start with those letters. In the month of September we practiced our fine motor skills by learning how to use crayons to color pictures and circles on paper. We learned about the different emotions our bodies can
feel and what we can do if we feel sad or angry. We learned about rainbows and what colors make a rainbow by doing our rainbow skittle experiment. We encourage you this month to continue sharing different stories from your own home with the class to keep the learning going both at home and in the classroom.

We had a great time in September and we were very busy.
Music classes with Ms. Jane have started after the summer break. It is fun to listen and move and groove to new songs and different sounds. The weather has been great to spend outside time while we still can. Last week when we were out, some very noisy geese were on the other side of the parking lot and that held our interest for a long time! Our lessons have helped us learn
and have fun at the same time. The favorite seemed to be a practical life lesson, wiping our nose. It seems to be the best when we pretend sneeze and make funny sneeze noises.
For October we have fun activities planned for Halloween. And also we will be continuing to work hard on our lessons, focusing on using cups and spoons independently. It can be messy but they are so happy to be able to do it themselves.
I hope everyone has had a chance to meet Ms. Husna. She is a great addition to the infant room. The babies all love her! Welcome, Husna!
Thanks, have a great rest of your day. Dawn, Husna and Shyla
