T2 is in the heart of downtown St. George on W Tabernacle Street, near IRONMAN Village located at Town Square Park (50 S Main St, St George, UT 84770). There will be shuttles available during race week taking athletes and spectators to IRONMAN Village during shuttle operating hours. NO BIKES ARE ALLOWED ON THE SHUTTLES. Please review the shuttle schedule for more details on run times and pick up locations.

As a reminder, athletes will only be allowed to check-in their bike, bike gear, and run gear during their previously selected check-in times.

Athletes must place their helmet in their Bike Gear Bag prior to checking in their Bike Gear Bag. After helmets have been checked, athletes must place their helmet into their Bike Gear Bag.

T1 is located at Sand Hollow State Park (3351 Sand Hollow Rd, Hurricane, UT 84737). There will be shuttles available during race week taking athletes and spectators out to T1 during shuttle operating hours. NO BIKES ARE ALLOWED ON THE SHUTTLES. Please review the shuttle schedule for more details on run times and pick up locations. There will be limited parking available at Sand Hollow State Park.

Take time to know the rules and learn about the various race changes before arriving for this year’s event.

• Pre-race Reminders• Pre-race Reminders - Apply sunscreen over tattoo AFTER the swim. Don’t forget your colored swimcap on race morning, and be certain to wear yourtiming chip.

• Bike Tech Service• Bike Tech Service - You should be prepared tohandle all normal repairs yourself and if you cankeep riding please do so and get to the next aid sta-tion as they will have basic tubes and bike pumpsfor you to use. If you ride on clincher tires, carryspare tubes and two tire levers for the narrow, high pressure tires. Powder your tires ahead of timefor easy installation, especially if you’re using CO2cartridges. Make sure your tire valves are tight, sothey won’t pull out after inflation. If using sew-ups,you may want to have a tire lever along for ease inremoving a well-glued tire.

Tip: Practice tire changing at home rather than on the course on race day.

Course Description

Swim — 1.2 miles/1.9 km Swim — 1.2 miles/1.9 km The Roka Swim Course will feature an age group rolling wave start. Athletes will seed themselves within their respective age groups based on their projected swim times. The start will be on the boat ramp and 10 athletes will start every 15 seconds. The swim course will be a fast and direct course with just two turns.

Bike — 56 miles/90.1 kmBike — 56 miles/90.1 kmThe Ventum Bike Course begins at T1 abd turns left on Sand Hollow Road, then left on Southern Parkway/SRy, right turn to exit onto 2000 South and do a U-turn. Turn right back onto Southern Parkway/SRy and turn left on SRY. Turn left on Telegraph Street, right on Washington Parkway and Left onto Main Street. U-trun on Main Street and turn right on Buena Vista Boulevard. Turn left on Washington Parkway, left on Green Spring Strive and right on East Red Hills Parkway. Stay staight as Red Hills Parway becomes Snow Canyon Parkway and turn right on Snow Canyon Drive. Turn right on SR 18 and stay as it becomes Bluff Street. Turn left on Diagonal Street, right on Main Street and turn right onto Tabernacle Street to T2. The bike turnaround is located in Hawi and is one of the checkpoints on the course. Riders will head back toward town along the Queen Ka ahumanu Hwy. to Makala Blvd. Turn right on Makala Blvd to Kuakini Hwy., turn left on Kuakini Hwy., right on Palani Rd. and into the transition area.

Aid stations on the bike course are every 12-15 miles.

Run — 13.1 miles/21.1 kmRun — 13.1 miles/21.1 kmTo begin the Hoka One One Run Course, you will exit transition and turn left on Main Street. Turn left on Diagonal Street and then trun right on Bluff Street bike path. Turn right on Red Hills Parkway. Turn around on Red Hills Parkway and merge onto the bike path. Turn left on 200 Eash/Skyline Drive and then trun right onto 400 N.Go left onto Main Street and run around the traffic circle at Main Street & Tabernacle to start Lap 2. Repeat lap 1 and then stay straight on Main Street at Tabernacle to the Finish.

The aid stations will be located approximately 1 mile/1.6 km apart on the run.

Pre-Race Training Tips

SwimSwim A portion of the swim course will be available for swim-ming on Wednesday & Thursday, September 15 & 16 from 7:00AM – 10:00AM from the boat ramp. All ath-letes will be required to check-in and check-out should they wish to swim on these days/times. Additional swimming at Sand Hollow State Park outside of these days/times is offered at the beaches along the south shore of the reservoir.

• You can swim on the course from T1 at Sand Hollow on Wednesday & Thursday from 7:00 AM-10:00 AM

• You can swim anytime at Sand Hollow State Parkfrom the beaches along the south shore.

Bike Bike During your bike training, use a rearview mirror and always wear a helmet. Utah bike safety tips to remem-ber: Please ride with a headlamp at night and avoid riding in a pack. Always ride in single file and on the shoulder to the right of the white line.

Cyclists are subject to the same laws that govern cars. Remember to obey traffic signals (especially stop signs, yield right-of-way signs and traffic lights) and all other rules of the road. Be alert and courteous to motorists. Remember, many of these motorists will be your vol-unteers on race day.

Be aware of turning traffic at all intersections along the highway throughout the day. Obey all the signal lights and always look behind you to see what traffic is doing as you approach all intersections. Signal drivers of your intentions.

RunRunBring water or other liquids with you to make sure you remain hydrated. Remain on the shoulder of the road, run single file and watch for traffic. Reflective tape must be worn when running after dark.

Other Pre-Race Training Tips

Don’t forget to use plenty of sunscreen and wear a hat and eye protection.

Please remember that you are an honored guest of the people of St. George. Conduct yourself like your country or state’s goodwill ambassador.

Official Bike Tech SupportPlaytri is the official bike shop for the 2021 In-termountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship presented by Utah Sports Commis-sion. There will be many experienced mechanics available to assist you in the IRONMAN Village, Bike Check-in and in Transition 1 on race day. Massage ServicesOn race day, massage service volunteers will offer a 10-minute complimentary post-race sports massage to athletes only on a first-come, first-served basis from 11 AM to 6:30 PM. This is a free service offered by both licensed professionals and students of massage therapy so tipping is not required nor expected.

If you are looking to schedule a private session in the days or weeks before or after the race you are invited to schedule online with our Massage Team Captain, Paul Dunsdon. Paul is a board-certified medical mas-sage practitioner with advanced certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He specializes in athletic performance, recovery, and rehabilitation. As the owner of Sports Massage of Dixie and a 13-year veteran of sports massage, Paul has been with IRON-MAN St. George from the beginning and along with his team, continues to be the leading example for Sports and Medical Massage in the Southern Utah area.

Finish Line PolicyAs a reminder, friends and/or family members are not permitted to cross the finish line or enter the finish chute with participating athletes.

IRONMAN® and IRONMAN 70.3® events have chosen to adopt this policy to ensure the safety of all participants, volunteers and fans. As with other sporting events, IRONMAN® and IRONMAN® 70.3® events strive to provide a competitive and memorable event, one that allows all parties to enjoy the entire IRONMAN® experience. This policy will allow each competitor adequate time to celebrate their accomplishment without interfering with other finishers. Athletes who choose not to respect this policy will receive an automatic disqualification (DQ).

Race Results

You’ve done it - the 1.2-mile swim, the 56-mile bike and the 13.1-mile run. Now see how you did in your age group and among the overall field.

Race results will be available online throughout race day and officially posted to the www.ironman.com/im703-world-championship.com site by 6:00 PM EST on Sunday, September 19th.

The IRONKIDS fun run offers young athletes the opportunity to feel the excitement of competition while enjoying the outdoors and promoting healthy living. Registration and packet pick-up will be located in the IRONMAN Village at Town Square Park on Wednesday, September 15 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Thursday, Septem-ber 16 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The race will start at 9 AM on Friday, September 17. Participants will start and finish at the 2021 Intermountain Health-care IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship present-ed by Utah Sports Commission offical Finsih Line!
