SEASON AND CROP COVERAGE (RABI 2021-22 SEASON)

1. WEATHER CONDITIONS

1.1. South-West Monsoon-2021: Major Agriculture in AP depends on South West Monsoon. The

South-West monsoon has set in over Kerala on 3rd

June, 2021 against the normal date of 1st June as

per IMD report. SW Monsoon has entered into some parts of Rayalaseema on 4th

June in Andhra

Pradesh and further advanced to some more parts on 6th

June, 2021 and covered entire AP on 10th

June, 2021. South West Monsoon has been withdrawn from entire country by 25.10.2021and

simultaneously North East Monsoon has commenced over Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Kerala and

adjoining South Karnataka and South Andhra Pradesh. (Rainfall in mm)

North East Monsoon: The average rainfall received from 1.10.2021 to 31.12.2021 is

recorded as 368.3 mm as against the Normal rainfall of 296.0 mm showing Excess by 24.4 percent.

Rainfall occurred at isolated places over Coastal AP and dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema.

Overall, the average rainfall received in Andhra Pradesh from 1-6-2021 to 23-02-2022 is recorded

as 998.5 mm as against the Normal as on date of 866.2 mm showing by Normal 15.3 percent. 1.2. District wise Rainfall:

The district wise rainfall from 1.6.2021 to 23.02.2022 is presented in Annexure-I.

2.WATER LEVELS IN MAJOR RESERVOIRS

All the Major reservoirs are holding 508.01 tmc as on 23-02-2022, by this time last year, the level

had stood at 512.69 tmc. The water levels in all major reservoirs as on 23-02-2022 are furnished

hereunder.

IV. AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS AND CROP CONDITION.

Rabi: Paddy is at transplantation to maximum tillering stage. Blackgram and Greengram crops are

at flowering to pod formation and maturity stage. Bengal gram is at flowering to pod formation

and harvesting stage. Ground nut is at vegetative to flowering and stage. Sesamum is at sowing to

vegetative stage. Niger and Rajma crops are harvested. Tobacco is at vegetative to picking stage.

Jowar and Bajra crops are at vegetative to grain hardening and harvesting stage. Maize is at

vegetative to cob formation stage. Ragi is at sowings to vegetative stage.

Kharif crops: Paddy is at harvesting stage. Red gram is at pod development to maturity stage.

Chillies are at fruit formation to picking stage. Cotton is at 3rd and 4th picking stage. Sugarcane is

at maturity to harvesting stage.
