Email: [email protected]Rabbi’s Message This week’s Parsha is Kedoshim which is unique in that it is the most Mitzva-dense of all Torah Parshios. There are 64 Pesukim in Kedoshim and it presents 51 Mitzvos; 13 positive and 38 negatives. What is the most outstanding of all the Mitzvos in Kedoshim? Being that we are in the midst of the days of the counting of the Omer you could argue it is Ahavas Yisrael – as the Torah commands in this Parsha to love your fellow as yourself. But think about it – how can we really love another person as much as we love ourselves? Perhaps the answer is found in the wording of the Passuk itself ואהבת לרעך כמוך, אני ה' Love your fellow as yourself – I am Hashem! This may be read in two ways. Yes, it may be difficult to develop such feelings for your neighbor, but if you try אני ה' “ I am Hashem” I will be there to help you. Furthermore - In the same way you express unconditional love for your neighbor, I - Hashem will demonstrate my affection to you.
