The Civil Service Commission issued Resolution No. 080096 to ensure appropriate interpretations of Section 13 of Republic Act 4670, Magna Carta for Public Schoof Teachers on · six -hour workday ·. 2. In compliance with the CSC Resolution, the DepEd issued Memorandum No. 291 , s. of 2008 on the guidelines for the implementation of the six (6) hours of actual classroom teaching of public elementary and secondary teachers with emphasis on granting the school the authority to formulate specific guidelines for the remaining two (2) hours to complete the eight (8) hours of work. 3. Further, DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2009 was issued to provide clarifications on the implementation of the said Memorandum and to ensure compliance and uniform interpretations at the school level, the following additional guidelines /clarifications were promulgated: 1 a The six (6) hours of actual classroom teaching shall cover the full teaching load of a teacher as indicated in the class program. Teaching load includes: advisorships and/or special assignments for the entire school year combined shall be considered as one teaching load (DepEd Memorandum No. 291 , 2. 2008) ; b. The time interval between actual classroom teaching shall be counted as part of the two (2) hours spent for teaching-related activities except lunch breaks and recess periods; c. f. The School Head Shall submit a written reJX)rt to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Field Office, the concerned COA Auditor and the Division Office. Schools Division Superintendents shall closely monitor and validate compliance to the agreed scheme of implementation.
4 . To provide Technical Assistance, Monitoring and Evaluation on the implementation of this policy SDOs are encourage to create a special Task Force.
5. To ensure full compliance of the field to this guidelines, Schools Division Superintendents are required to submit Monthly Compliance Status Report on_ the implementation of this policy EVERY 5TH DAY OF THE MONTH '.o the Re_g1~nal Director, Attn : Marry Ann T.
