Open the Cheek/Mouth section and Face section with right sides
facing up. They will look like this image.
The blue fabric (Mouth pieces) make the Filter Pocket. Left is
the exterior face section. Right is the interior mouth/filter section.
REUSABLE MASK WITH FILTER POCKET – SEWING INSTRUCTIONS
Materials List▪ Sewing Machine
▪ Polyester Sewing Thread
▪1/4 Yard of Woven Cotton Fabric OR
Heavy Weight Knit Fabric
▪6” Flexible Wire* (Options on pg 4)
Cutting Instructions – pattern pieces for 2 sizes included on pg. 3 thru 6
▪ Fold fabric in half, right sides together
▪ Lay pattern pieces face up on the wrong side of the fabric following grain
▪ Cut 2 strips (on the stretchy part of the knit) 1” x 5” for ear loop pieces
▪ Cut 2 of Face pieces, Cheek pieces, Mouth pieces (Mouth piece makes Filter Pocket)
▪ Transfer marks on pattern pieces to fabric

You should be able to make 2 masksout of this amount of fabric.
Sewing Construction Process
Layer the 2 Cheek/Mouth pieces right sides
together. Do the same for the 2 Face pieces.
Sew the 2 Cheek/Mouth pieces together
between the red X markers. Do the same for
the 2 Face pieces. Overcast edges together.
Overcast the straight edges of each
2 Cheek and 2 Mouth pieces as
shown.

Cheek piece on the
Mouth piece, lining
the long edge of the
Cheek piece with the
2 notches marked on
the Mouth piece. Pin
or stitch in place.
(You are overcasting single layers to give the edge a finish.)
