Tests are offered on the computer at flexible times and unofficial results are given immediately after the test. Also study preparation guides are available.

1. Apply for a temporary Teaching certificate in the area of Math or Science $75.00 application fee per subject www.fl.nesinc.com. 2. Complete “Why I want to become a Teacher” application form

3. Must be interviewed by “Step Up” Committee

4. Must be eligible for National Emergency Grant Training Scholarships

After accepted into the program, you will:

1.Participate in the Brevard Public Schools Alternative Certification Program (BPS ACP)by attending all the trainings that are offered during the summer, days, weekends or nights

2.Be committed to an intensive one-year-program

3. Work full time teaching in the fall of 2011-12

4. Complete all requirements for a Professional Teaching Certificate

5. Pass the General Knowledge test or have passed the CLAST prior to July 1, 2002

6.Pass the Professional Education Test

• Successfully complete the 60 hour ESOL Class

• Successfully complete the 60 hour FOR PD Reading course

• Successfully complete the 42 hours of mentoring and field experience

• Successfully complete the 72 hours of training prior to the school year

• Successfully complete the 120 hours of training

• Successfully complete the portfolio tasks and assignments required for completion in the BPS ACP
