Community Participation… Thank you to Quirindi High School, Quirindi Public School and St Joseph’s School For taking an active role in contributing to our preschool soft plastic waste project. The principals are engaging the children at their individual school within their leadership programs. Children will involve their families in the collection of plastic bags. Quirindi Preschool is the collection point. It is vitally important that children learn about waste and recycling throughout all levels of their educational schooling, to produce care takers for tomorrow’s world. Educating children about the importance of an education for sustainability curriculum; Rethink, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle is a path to a greener future. It is important that children realise each person and each family adds significant waste to the planet over their lifetime. By teaching children at a young age to be environmentally aware, we are building lifelong habits that could potentially make a dramatic difference in the future of our earth. Families encouraging their children to recycle and getting young children involved is key to achieving better waste disposal practices and healthier environment. Collaboratively we are learning to be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem.
