Quilts and Blankets Quilts and blankets brighten the patients’ rooms as well as their spirits while bringing added comfort and security during their hospital stay. Blankets/Quilts are made of bright, child friendly colors and patterns like the one pictured above. We ask that all blankets and quilts be new and washed before donation to the hospital. We are able to use all sizes and styles of blankets and quilts (fleece tied, flannel, knitted, crocheted, etc.), however we do have suggested sizes listed below. For preemie and infant blankets and quilts, we suggest 18”X18” and up 30”X30”. These blankets must be sergered on all sides to prevent fraying and choking hazards with no buttons, fringes or other notions. For toddlers to teenagers, preferred sizes are between 4’X6’ (lap blanket/quilt) up to 39”X75” (twin size). The following are examples of beautiful quilts/blankets and fabric choices that have been donated to the patient’s at Cook Children’s by a Stitch-a- Wish Volunteer.
