Questions with Inversion

•In French questions are often constructed using the phrase “est-ce que”, however, when the subject is a pronoun inversion is more commonly used.

Questions with Inversion

•When a question is constructed using inversion the subject and the verb are inverted, or switched. They are connected by a hyphen.

You travel to Paris.

•When the subject is il or elle a “-t-” is inserted between the subject and the verb for pronunciation purposes.
