  • 1. Although Kerrang magazine is not a rapmagazine, the Masthead of the magazine ismade to look like it has sort of cracked orbroke which also shows how diehard themagazine itself is. I tried to make myMasthead as rough and hard-core I couldand therefore named my magazine Rough. It is sort of shows the background of mymagazine as my magazine is a rap magazineand the title show the coolness of it. Unlikethe other Mastheads in all the other rapmagazines, my masthead is not covered upby my rap artist. I think if I was to make myartist cover up a bit of he masthead, it wouldhave made my magazine overall much morecool and hardcore. The other mastheadsin all the other rap magazines are big andbold whereas my one is in a fancier fontthan theirs that is another thing that is differentfrom my rap magazine.

2. The magazines on the left side areexamples of different types of rapmagazines. The colour scheme ofmost of the rap magazines are usuallya dark red colour and white, the redindicates the hard-core-ness of therap magazines and the whiterepresents the coolness. The colourscheme of my magazine was mainlyred and white but I did add othercolours but with purpose. The darkblue was used every time the nameof my rapper was mentioned; toshow the rough-ness andseriousness of my rapper. I differentcolours on the front cover of mymagazine depending on the topic Iwas talking about to present eachtopic. It also makes my magazinefront cover more effective and standsout from other rap magazines. I didthe same in the contents page andalso used the colour black for thearticle about my rapper and for themessage board on the contentspage to make that more effectivetoo. 3. I used different types of fonts through outmy magazine. Arial was my main fontbecause it was very easy to read and alsovery simple. Also it is not as fancy as otherfonts, my magazine genre is a little seriousso this font went quite well with it. I used aBlack oak standard to introduce my artist. Ialso used capital letters most of my timeduring the construction of my magazine tomake it bold and stand out. I used the Applecasual font for the Masthead of mymagazine, also this font doesnt sound veryhard or doesnt really match up to thegenre of my magazine, and I didnt test itout for the font testing but this font wentquite well with my masthead. As it doesmake it look quite Rough. The caps lockon my magazine are vaguely similar to whatother rap magazines have as their fonts areall in caps lock to. In many othermagazines, he font Arial is used as it isvery easy to read and effortless as well, thisis why I chosen that font to use to type upmy article about my rap artist with. 4. My style of photography hasbeen done very differently tohow other magazines edittheir photography. As youcan see, the photos on theexamples of rap magazines, their photos havent reallybeen edited like the way Ihave done mine. I have usedspecial effects to add moreeffect to my magazine tomake it a little more hard. The photos on thesemagazines have only beenedited out of theirbackgrounds whereas I havekept the backgrounds left onmy pictures and I haveedited my pictures onPhotoshop to make mymagazine look hardcoreand cool. 5. I have really done anything for mypage numbers to be different toany other magazine numbers as Ihave just put them at the bottomcorners of my double page spread. In most magazines, page numbersare either at the top corners ofpages or at the bottom corners ofpages. I have also made my pagenumbers red to link in with my colourscheme of my magazine. I havenoticed that for their page numbers,Kerrang magazine have addedtheir magazine name before or aftertheir page numbers to make theirmagazine a bit more different andstand out to any others where as formy magazine, I have just left it withthe page numbers. 6. The pull quotes I havedone and made for mymagazine are not aseye catching andnoticeable unlike realmagazines. I have donepull quotes on my frontcover as I quoted mymade up rap artist andanother artist but unlikeactual magazines, Ididnt do a shapearound my quotes tomake it more obviousand visible to my targetaudience. 7. The writing style of my doublepage spread is made asrealistic as possible as I addeda few mini jokes while theinterview is going on. Thisshows that rap artists feelingsand expressions. While writingthis article for my double pagespread, I was sort of trying tomake my interview as real aspossible and so therefore triedto express the artists feelingsin writing. This double page Ihave found from the Kerrangmagazine have just done alittle article about acomeback from a bandwhere as to show my writingstyle, I did an interview.
