Question 6
Question 6
The main things I have learned during this project is in Photoshop. Before I began constructing magazine in Media, I have never used Photoshop before, but with the help of my lecturers and colleagues I can now comfortably product 4 pages of a magazine. Also, during our lessons we had students share one top tip for Photoshop and give us a tutorial on how to use certain tools, which was also a massive help.
I also learned all about photography, and all the different lighting styles. For example, the 2 main lighting styles in photography is high key and low key.
High key photography tends to eliminate all shadows, and produce very lively and bright photos, usually with a white background. A lot of these photos tend to lack saturation and are sometimes in completely black and white.
Low key photography is a lot more dramatic and mysterious, having almost everything in shadow except for certain points of the subject where the light hits it. These photos also usually have a dark background.
Another thing I learned relating to photography is different camera angles.
A medium close up is from the top of the head to just above the waist.
A medium long shot is from the knees to the top of the head.
A high angle shot is taken from above the subject.
A low angle shot is taken from below the subject.
A full body shot includes the full subject.
A medium shot is from the waist to the top of the head.
A close up just includes the head.
