Bauer Media Group is a is a large publishing company with approximately 400 magazines, over 110 websites and about 50 radio and TV programs. It is in 15 diff erent countries worldwide. They have readers and viewers in places like Germany, Austria, Mexico, Spain, the UK and the USA. It is one of the leading magazines in the world. It publishes other magazines like ‘Kerrang!’, ‘Empire’, and ‘Q’. In the UK, the Bauer Media group has 90 print titles.

Bauer has a variety of different magazines with a wide genre and audience.

The main magazines that are aimed at the same genre and audience as ‘Record magazine’ are ‘Q,’ ‘Mojo,’ Kerrang!,’ and ‘Empire.’

For the magazine ‘Record’ adverts that would be suitable for advertising in the magazine are things like, up and coming gigs and album releases because it is music related and the readers are reading the magazines because they are interested in music. Also a phone company may be a prime example of who would advertise in a magazine like ‘Record’ because the target audience is teenagers and young adults who are very technology minded and rely on their phones more than older people do. A company that sells music/CDs/entertainment like HMV would also be a good shop to advertise as they will be the place that the reader buy music from.

Having ‘Record’ as an online presence would be a good idea because a lot of people who the magazine is aimed at may not buy an issue one week and if there is a story that they really want to read or know about they can look it up online and find it. Also, having an online website it’s a positive thing as people who live abroad or people who can’t get a hold of the magazine can read the magazine online and become a fan of it.
