From this picture you can see that typical image of women in most hip hop videos are seen as sex symbols and they portray this by showing skin and dancing around sexually. This stereotypes has been set by the genre itself as it is conventional for the mainstream, and in order to be successful you have to live by that. Although this helps attract the male gaze we want to develop a character that is attractive but in a more sophisticated way.

The representation of the artist is heavily important. Conventionally the artist image in hip hop videos is expressed through wealth, women, authority, image and status.
We wanted to reject the mainstream by subverting the conventions shown. We showed status by placing out artist on a bridge and shooting from a low angle to show a superior status, also he is placed in the centre of the bridge to alert the audience that he is the star and give a sense of dominance and status.MES:-Clothing baggy/street like-Lighting shot at night to show his lifestyle -backgrounds graffiti area shows where he grew up
