Supply Readiness
• Transportation Customers depend on their supplier to deliver gas to QGC city gate
– Supplier doesn’t nominate enough gas for you, or
– Gas nominated on your behalf doesn’t show up at the city gate
• In either case, QGC is not obligated to cover shortfall
– If QGC covers shortfall, you will have an imbalance for the day
– If QGC doesn’t cover shortfall
» This will result in a supply interruption
» Interruption penalties will apply
Interruption Readiness
• If you have interruptible capacity, please be prepared for an interruption– Two hours notice– Geographic interruption possible– Partial interruption possible
• Failure to interrupt when called upon to do so will result in penalties
Interruption Penalties
• $40 per Decatherm• Plus highest gas cost on the system• Plus SNG rate from IS rate schedule
($.18 per dth)• If a customer fails to interrupt
– Beginning July 1 of following year, firm rates will apply for three years for volumes over firm allowed amount
Hourly Firm Calculation Example
Example: 24 hour a day load•Daily Firm Amount: 240 dth•Hourly Firm Amount 240/24=10 dth•Eight hour interruption of interruptible load
– Allowed firm amount during interruption
– 10 dth*8hrs=80 dth
Hourly Firm Calculation Example• If you typically burn your firm amount in less
than 24 hours– You will need to increase your firm amount so that
your hourly firm available covers your load
• Example– 12 hour requirement of 240 dth or 20 dth/hr
• Daily firm requirement should be 480• 480 dth per day divided by 12 hours =20 dth
per hour )
• During an eight hour curtailment you will be allowed 160 dth (8 hrs * 20 dth/hr = 160dth)
