Who Should Apply?
• Registered nurses/midwives who have completed their first university undergraduate nursing/midwifery course or graduate‐entry Masters of Nursing/Midwifery between July 2015 to July 2017 or
• Due to complete your first undergraduate degree or graduate‐entry Masters in Nursing/Midwifery by December 2017
• Eligible to apply for nursing or midwifery registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA)
• Proof of residency status (citizenship/permanent Residents)• Have not worked as a Registered Nurse or Registered Midwife for more than
six months full‐time equivalent prior to application• For details, refer to the Prospectus Sections 2 (Recruitment eligibility criteria),
7 (Mandatory confirmation of residency status) and 8 (English competency).

• If you have previously applied on the Graduate Portal or Smart Jobs, enter your existing login details and select login. You will be directed to the on‐line application form.
• If you have not previously registered on the Graduate Portal or Smart Jobs, select Register to create a new account, type in a username (email address) and choose a suitable password:– Please use an email address you will access regularly– Avoid using an email provider with a low storage limit in case it cannot accept the
size of the recruiting documents.
• Complete your account details, select save, and you will be directed to the on‐line application form.

It is equally important that you select your Clinical preferences (first and second)from the drop down menu. There are 23 clinical specialisation areas you can choose from. However, not all clinical fields are available in all the 16 Hospital and Health Services (HHSs). You should research your preferenced hospitals to decide if your clinical preferences match your hospital preferences.

It is in this section that you submit your application. Please ensure that you actually press the “Submit” button once your application is finalised. You can prepare a draft, and edit your application as many times as you like. But it must be submitted by 5.00pm, Friday, 25 August 2017.
Complete Graduate Summary
• The graduate summary is a document where applicant indicates their three preferred facilities under the nominated Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) they selected in the on‐line application form
• The facilities listed in the graduate summary must correspond to the HHSs they selected in the on‐line application form (for details, please refer to the Prospectus, section 10 Application process).
• Applicant can select up to three out of the 23 Clinical Area preferences for each HHS.
• Please note that some Hospital and Health Services use the Graduate Summary as part of their assessment process. Incomplete/incorrect, or failure to attach the Graduate Summary may result in the applications not be considered.

• Applicants who progress through to the interview stage are required to provide at least one referee report.
• Referees can be a clinical supervisor from third year of study (university employees are not qualified to be a referee unless involved in your clinical practice)
• In the absence of a clinical supervisor, any other previous supervisors/managers who had a direct supervisory role, preferably within the last two years.
• It is optional for the referee report to be submitted at the time of application.

• Information about the 2018 recruitment can be found at the Queensland Health Graduate Campaigns webpage
• Research the Hospital and Health Services (HHSs) you intend to apply to determine if they offer the clinical programs you are interested in
• Thoroughly read and understand the Prospectus• Ensure that the reference number “QLD/244562” is quoted in the automated
acknowledgment email for your application. Otherwise it is an indication that you have not submitted your application correctly. You need to log back into the portal and re‐submit (refer to section “how to apply” in this presentation)
• Only one application will be accepted by the portal from the same individual. Graduates who submitted more than one application, the portal will only accept the first application and remove any subsequent submissions.

Graduate summary; resume and university transcript. – Optional : Referee report at the time of application– Ensure that the hospitals listed in the graduate summary correspond to the relevant
