Stung by its worst annual sales slump in five years, desperate to win back food hipsters, McDonaldshas planted its marketing flag on “the big kahuna of human emotions, love.” Love, that is, andshoving its chicken suppliers into compliancewith a new non-antibiotic-use policy. Criticscontend Big Mac’s antibiotics announcementis just so much empty marketing to out-ChipotleChipotle. But many are not so sure. Consider:Antibiotic-resistant bacteria have been discov-ered buried in 3.5-million year-old Siberian per-mafrost. And, as witnessed by this live streamof the last surviving order of a McDonald’shamburger and fries made in Iceland—morethan five years ago and now on display at theNational Museum in Iceland—there’s at leasta good chance researchers discovering antibiotic-resistant Icelandic bacteria 3 million years fromtoday could find it resting on a Big Mac.

Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: LáFhéile Pádraig, "the Day of the Festival of Patrick"), is acultural and religious celebration occurring annually on 17March, the death date of the most commonly-recognisedpatron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461).Saint Patrick's Day was made an official Christian feast
day in the early seventeenth century and is observed bythe Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especiallythe Church of Ireland),[4] the Eastern Orthodox Churchand Lutheran Church. The day commemorates SaintPatrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland,[3] as wellas celebrating the heritage and culture of the Irish in gen-eral.[5] Celebrations generally involve public parades andfestivals, céilithe, and the wearing of green attire or sham-rocks.[6] Christians also attend church services,[5][7] andthe Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol arelifted for the day, which has encouraged and propagatedthe holiday's tradition of alcohol consumption.[5][6][8][9]Saint Patrick's Day is a public holiday in the Republic ofIreland,[10] Northern Ireland,[11] Newfoundland and La-brador and Montserrat. It is also widely celebrated by the
Irish diaspora around the world; especially in Great
Brita in, Canada, the United States, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand.
