The Holy QURAN

And observe Prayer and pay the Zakat; and whatever good you send on before you for yourselves, you shall find it with Allah; surely, Allah sees all that you do.

News - RESEARCH CELL

Fr iday SERMON - del ivered by HADHRAT MIRZA MASROOR AHMAD

The third condition of bai’at lays emphasis on this fundamental commandment in these words: “That he/she

shall regularly offer the five daily prayers in accordance with the commandments of God and the Holy

Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him);” Allah Almighty says: “Establish your prayer” many

times throughout the Holy Quran. The Promised Messiah (as) says: “Man cannot attain nearness to Allah un-

less he performs prayers as it behoves to do so.”

In the context of the era we live in, the importance of offering salat increases more so because it is linked

with the promise of Khilafat, which is a blessing for those who offer salat.

Salat should be offered in congregation, should be offered regularly, and should be offered on time. Allah

Almighty says: Establish prayer and give Zakat and prostrate with those who bow before God. This verse

emphasizes that offering prayer and making financial sacrifices take the best form when offered in congre-

gation and as a community. The Holy Prophet (sa) has said that offering prayers in congregation increases

the reward 27 fold.

Huzoor (aba) said that we hear this in jalsas and speeches, but implementing these into practice happens

scarcely, therefore we must make a very strong effort in this context. Even when prayers are offered, more

emphasis needs to be laid on offering them in congregation.

On the 22nd June 2012

Tarneit l ibrary Vis i t - TABLIGH REPORT

The new library opened in Tarneit was visited by Sadar sahiba Melbourne West, Noma Ather

and Umna Saeed during the month of January. It was planned that a jamat introduction

would be given at the library and some of the jamat literature would be kept there for any-

one to read, learn and experience.

The library staff and management was contacted and a meeting was held with them in which

a detailed introduction of Jamat Ahmadiyya was given, along with its objectives and efforts

towards the promotion of peace in the entire world. It was explained how our literature can

eradicate misunderstandings and confusions regarding Islam and help create a healthier en-

vironment and mind-set amongst people of different religions.

The management at the Tarneit Library decided to help our cause and keep a few books at

their library. Thus, on the following visit three very important books were taken to the library.

These were:

A copy of the Holy Quran with English translation

Pathway to Peace (By Hazrat Khalifatul Masih 5th)

Life of Muhammad (By Musleh Maud ra)

We see this as a great start and hope that this can be a new channel for Tabligh in the West.

In the future we intend to take some of the peace pamphlets and invites for the jamat pro-

grams and activities. We also aim to involve the local community around and help raise

awareness amongst the youth and learners.

May Allah accept this small effort and may it render fruits in years to come .. Ameen !!

Another tabligh activity for this month was the distribution of New Year Cards amongst the

Non-Ahmadies.

Gir ls Guide Vis i t - TABLIGH REPORT

As a mean to celebrate Harmony Day, girls of the Western Sydney Girl Guides group invited

speakers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association to give a brief introduction about

Islam. The event took place on Thursday, 24 March at the Glendenning Neighbourhood Cen-

tre. Three members from Lajna Imaillah (National Secretary Tabligh, National Secretary

Tabligh Assistant, and President of AMWSA) participated in the celebration which was at-

tended by 5 Girl Guides Volunteers and 15 Girl Guides members (Ages 7-15). After an in-

troductory session about how people greet in different cultures, a Lajna member gave an in-

formal discussion regarding the Islamic greeting. This followed on to a brief introduction re-

garding the Islamic faith and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. A Question and Answers

session led into an interactive activity on How to tie a Hijab. The girls were very excited to

learn about the Islamic dress code, let alone try one for themselves. Whilst a Lajna member

was distributing the scarves, an introduction about the Hijab was also given. The young girls

as well as the volunteers, began to sense that Muslim women are also very comfortable to

answer questions which opposes the mainstream view, which they had recognized themselves.

The girls were very creative in their styling, and a group picture was taken at the end. To fi-

nalise the day, the Lajna members discussed ways to create bridges between the Ahmadiyya

Community and the Girl Guides group. We also discussed an event which could be organized

in which they can visit our Bait-ul-Huda mosque. This was a great opportunity for Lajna Imail-

lah to create ties with organisations of our community. Inshallah new opportunities will arise.

May Allah enable us to strengthen our efforts. Ameen.

Quran Seminar - TABLIGH REPORT

By the grace of Allah Almighty the Quran Seminar of Lajna Imaillah Majlis Melbourne South was held on the

21st of February 2016 at Bait ul Salam. The Quran Seminar consisted of different speeches. Lajna member

were able to derive knowledge about Quran.

Quran seminar began with the recitation of the Holy Quran (Ch:5, verse 20-23), followed by its translation

in English and Urdu. Then Hadith was recited about the Holy Quran. This was then followed by Nazm, which

was also about the Quran.

After this first speech was delivered by Mrs. Sara Salman sahiba in English and the topic of her speech was

“The Holy Quran A book of Salvation”. She said true love of God leads to salvation. The Holy Quran

taught us of establishing a spiritual and perfect relationship with god. The purpose of all Quran insight is to

raise a man from his natural condition of barbarity to a moral state. And then lift him from that state to the

limitless ocean of spirituality. First of all we have a question what is salvation? The answer is “It means that a

person should commit himself wholly to God, and should offer himself as a sacrifice in the cause of God, and

should prove his sincerity not only through his motive but also through righteous conduct”.

The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) wrote “Remember the Holy Quran is a fountained of real bless-

ing and a source of salvation”. How regrettable and astonishing it is if those who believe that it is Word of

God and is a healing formula of salvation do not practice on it. On the Day of Judgment, the Quran will

confirm or deny your faith. There is no other book under heaven beside the Quran which can furnish you with

salvation. The Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) wrote in his book Kashti- Nuh “Be alert all the time and

do not take a single step contrary to divine teaching and the guidance of the Quran. I tell you truly that any-

one who evades the least one of the 700 commandments of the Quran, shuts upon himself the door of salva-

tion. She concluded her speech with dua.

Next speech was delivered by Mrs. Khola Uman Sahiba in Urdu and the topic of her speech was “Miracles

and Prophecies of the Holy Quran”. Summary of the

speech is “Holy Quran is a Book which could not be

compared with any other Book. This fact is a standing

miracle of the Holy Prophet. For the last fourteen hun-

dred years the challenge of the Quran stands unan-

swered." The Quran, which is a universal Book, was

revealed at the end and it not restricted to any partic-

ular nation or people but is there for all mankind.

Quranic prophecies prove to be quite genuine and

true. No one can ever imagine that an unlettered per-

son living in a nomadic society of Arabia 1400 years ago can predict such amazing scientific events, as men-

Quran Seminar - TABLIGH REPORT

ulous fulfilment of a prophecy. The Qur'an’s “rhythmic style and eloquent expression” have been cited as aids

in verbatim memorization.

The Qur'an states that God says to the Pharaoh of the Exodus: "This day shall We save thee in thy body, that

thou mayest be a sign to those who come after thee." The body of the Pharaoh, had been thought to be lost

at sea until the mummies of both were discovered in the 19th century, and put on display in Cairo's Egyptian

Museum; it is argued that the prophecy that the Pharaoh's body would be preserved has been fulfilled.

Then another speech and presentation was presented by Miss Aisha Shahbaz on the topic of “The Importance

and etiquettes of the Recitation of the Holy Quran”

She described the word Quran means that which is often read or recited. The Quran is the record of the ver-

bal revelations in Arabic from God Almighty to the Holy Prophet Muhammad peace and blessing be upon him,

over a period of about 23 years. These revelations first started in the month of Ramadan. A very distinctive

feature of the Holy Quran is that it contains a divine guarantee for its perpetual preservation. “We sent down

this book and verily We shall safeguard it” (15:10). As a result of this guarantee, the text of the Holy Quran

has remained unchanged over the past fourteen hundred years.

The Holy Quran is a divine book and it must be handled with extreme respect and care. The Promised Messiah

(on whom be peace) said that one who honours the Holy Quran will be honoured in the heavens. Hazrat Mirza

Masroor Ahmed explained that “honoured in heavens means that believers will be given blessing of Allah,

they will be saved from the evils of the society and their prayers will be accepted.

The recitation of the Holy Quran is a spiritual experience and provides an enlightenment of the mind and com-

fort for the soul. To maximize the pleasure of its recitation and the understanding of its content, Can only get it

by reciting every day. Before starting recitation of Quran we should recite Ta`awuz then we should say Bismil-

lah. We should be physically clean and, preferably perform Wudu before recitation. Also, to fully absorb the

blessings of the Quran and to understand its real meanings, one should be spiritually pure, clean and sincere in

one`s belief.

We may read the Holy Quran at any time but the best time is after Fajar Prayer. Allah says in the Holy

Quran “Verily the recitation of the Quran at Dawn is especially acceptable to God” (ch.17; verse 79)

After the first session then we had Dars ul Quran of Surah Al-baqarah Ruku number 13 to 23, delivered by

Murabi Sahib. He discussed all the subjects of these ruku`s.

Quran seminar was concluded by dua.

May Allah provide us the strength to understand to act upon these teaching and to recite the Holy Quran dai-

ly. Ameen

tioned hereunder, to happen. It is very well beyond the human capacity to foretell or even visualize such in-

credible incidents. The only conceivable source of these prophecies and predictions is purely divine. Interest-

ingly, all such prophecies are fulfilled by those who were not Muslims, rather many of them are atheists. Thus

no question of staging the prophecy and manipulating the circumstances arises.

Throughout the Qur'an, claims or predictions are made concerning future events. Many of the prophecies are

viewed as having metaphoric meanings, while others are taken more literally. As the Qur'an is said to contain

the exact words of God which were revealed to Muhammad in Arabic and later transcribed, the meaning of

the Qur'an has a great ef-

fect on Muslim beliefs and

understanding. Some proph-

ecies are debated more

than others as to whether or

not they were actually ful-

filled or how the Qur'anic

text should be interpreted.

One of the more general

prophecies is that the

Qur'an predicts its own preservation and endurance. The Qur'an states that the book itself will survive as a

valid source and that the religion of Islam will last, even dominate, because of this. Muslim scholars say that

today's Qur'an is the same Qur'an originally compiled by Muhammad, and that the memorization ensures the

consistency and its preservation. The following passages from the Qur'an state these prophecies:

“We have, without doubt, Sent down the Message; And We will assuredly Guard it (from corruption)” (15:9).

“It is Allah Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance And the ideology of Truth, to make it superior over all

other ways of life, Even though the disbelievers May hate (it)” (61:9).

Another interpretation of the Qur'an is that it predicted the defeat of the Persians by the Romans. Before the

prophecy, at the Battle of Antioch, in 613 C.E., the Persians defeated the Romans. Muslims were upset by this

defeat because they felt more connected to Rome, a Christian empire, than to Persia, a Zoroastrian one. A

few years afterwards, the following verse was revealed in the Qur'an: "The Roman Empire Has been defeat-

ed – In a land close by; But they, (even) after (This) defeat of theirs, Will soon be victorious – Within a few

years. With God is the Decision, In the Past And in the Future: On that Day shall The Believers rejoice” (30:2-

4). By 627 C.E., the Romans had successfully defeated the Persians, resulting in much celebration by Muslims

and fulfilling the prophecy of the Qur'an.

The Qu'ran says “And We have indeed Made the Qur-an easy to understand and remember: Then is there

any that Will receive admonition?” (54:17) That memorisation is indeed possible has been said to be a mirac-
