CDP Staff Induction Suite

A strong onboarding process is essential to success within employment service programs. Inducting staff into the
organisation as well as the program will ensure they are well prepared for the requirements of their jobs.
The CDP Induction suite of modules will provide new staff with a grounding and foundation knowledge of CDP.
From understanding mutual obligation to the Initial appointment, the creation of job plans and job seeker
compliance, this suite of modules will provide your staff with the best possible start in their specific CDP roles.

Introduction to CDP
This module will introduce staff to the Community Development Programme. Focus will be on developing a
clear understanding of the CDP purpose, goals, structure and performance framework as well as best practice
in CDP delivery.
Understanding Mutual Obligation
This module will introduce staff to the different mutual obligation (MO) requirements that job seekers have.
From job searching to attending appointments and activity participation. Staff will understand their role in
monitoring mutual obligation under CDP.
Developing Job Plans
This module will introduce staff to the creation and ongoing management of CDP job plans. Staff will
understand the importance of goal development as well as the different types of activities and assistance and
best practice around the creation and updating of job plans.
Delivering the Initial Appointment
This module will introduce staff to the process for delivering a quality initial appointment. Covering topics such
as JSCI completion to the initial job plan and using ECSN to “get to know” the job seeker. This module focuses
on developing best practice in the completion of initial appointments.
Understanding Job Seeker Compliance
This module will introduce staff to the job seeker compliance framework under CDP. From
NARs to Participation Reports and CCAs. Staff will understand their role in monitoring and
reporting on job seeker compliance and the consequences of non-compliance.

CDP Case Management Suite

Case Management forms a vital part of the CDP service delivery model. A well developed set of case management
skills and understanding of the case management process will ensure success within your organisation.
This suite of modules focuses on developing the core case management soft skills including communication, active
listening, time management, advocacy and dealing with difficult clients. Our modules also focus on the case
management process of Assessment, Planning, Referral and Monitoring.

CDP Assessments
This module will focus on the different types of assessments available to CDP staff including the JSCI and ESAt.
Staff will explore how to use the information from assessments to inform their decision making and planning
with job seekers. Staff will also focus on developing their own assessment skills.
Working with Barriers & the Intervention Management Tool (IMT)
Barrier management forms a large part of case management. This module will introduce staff to the IMT and
how to use it effectively to show barrier management. The module will also focus on planning strategies for
addressing barriers as well as utilising the job plan as a tool for barrier management.
Servicing Barriers & Referral
This module will focus on the different referral and servicing options available to CDP providers when
delivering case management services. From one-on-one servicing to external referral processes, staff will
develop strategies for best working with the individual circumstances of each job seeker.
Documenting Case Management
This module will focus on the administration and documentation side of case management. Strong focus will
be on the development of quality file notes to support the case management process. Staff will look at best
practice strategies for documenting all their interactions.
Developing Case Management Soft Skills
This module will focus on the development of a number of soft skills, useful in the area of case
management. This includes communication skills, active listening as well as time management,
advocacy and dealing with difficult behaviours.

CDP Employment & PPS Suite

CDP is above all an employment first program. Strong focus is placed on preparing and placing job seekers into
employment and delivering quality post placement support (PPS) once employed. With the RET worth 25% and
PPS worth 10% of overall performance, employment plays a vital part in the success of any CDP.
This suite of modules focus on everything to do with employer engagement, preparing job seekers for
employment , job placement, outcome tracking and post placement support (PPS)

Preparing Job Seekers for Employment
This module will focus on the role of staff in preparing job seekers for employment. This module will examine
goal setting, self marketing and career planning as well as resume development, interview and presentation
advice and understanding employer and labour market expectations.
Employer Engagement
This module will introduce staff to the process and strategies around employer engagement. From developing
strong employer relationships to the process of reverse marketing as a strategy for job placement. This
module will also examine the role of work experience and the Employer Incentive Funding (EIF).
Understanding and Tracking CDP Outcomes
This module will examine the process of tracking a job seeker from placement to 13 and 26 week employment
outcome. This module will give staff an understanding of the different outcome types as well as documentary
evidence requirements and the process for claiming outcomes.
Delivering Quality Post Placement Support (PPS)
PPS forms a large part of the performance framework. This module will act as a best practice guide in the
delivery of PPS services. From placement risk assessment to making PPS contacts, support and
intervention and gathering and documenting relevant information.

CDP Work for the Dole Suite

Work for the Dole (WfD) plays an integral part in the CDP service delivery model. Well developed and engaging
activities as well as well trained and dedicated activity supervisors are vital to the success of Work for the Dole.
This suite of modules focuses on staff understanding the role of WfD within the CDP program along with best
practice around the managing of job seekers in WfD and specific focus on developing supervisor skills in WHS and
team leadership and mentoring.

Understanding Work for the Dole (WfD)
This module will introduce staff to WfD as a component of CDP. Focus will be around the requirements of WfD
as well as the process for establishing activities and the requirements in the delivery of WfD activities to CDP
participants.
Managing Job Seekers in Work for the Dole (WfD)
This module will focus on the management of job seekers in WfD activities. This includes the WfD induction
process as well as activity diary setup and management and the resulting of timesheets and activity diaries and
associated compliance.
Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)
This module will examine the basic WHS requirements for supervisors when managing WfD activities. Staff will
examine a range of WHS issues, conducting risk assessments and delivering toolbox talks as well as managing
workplace incidents and accidents.
Leading a Work for the Dole (WfD) Team
This module will introduce supervisors to a range of general leadership skills when supervising a group of
WfD participants. From effective communication, motivation and managing difficult behaviours, staff will
examine best practice in leadership and team management.

Option 3: 12mth Organisational Licence
A 12mth organisational licence entitles you to unlimited enrolments (existing and new staff) in all current and
future learning modules/suites for a 12 month period. With an organisational licence you can also directly
enrol your own staff using the “Manager Role” and generate reports and data based on staff participation and
completion. Full training and support is provided to those CDP providers who choose an organisational licence.
A 12 month organisational licence is charged at $7,450 + GST
