As we continue social distancing measures due to COVID-19, the church doors
remain closed, per the requirements of the Archdiocese in conjunction with
government officials. In this time, we have had several inquiries about how to
continue tithing, and there are several ways to do it. You may send your do-
nations to 824 Jefferson Street, Tell City, IN 47586 (for St. Michael/St. Paul/
St. Pius) or 5377 Acorn Road, Tell City, IN 47586 (St. Mark), set up online bill
pay through your banking institution, or online via www.stpaultellcity.org/
giving, www.archindy.org/Giving where you can make a one time or recur-
ring donations. With online giving, there can be a delay in the reporting of
those numbers, so if your gift does not appear in the week you sent it, it will
be reported in a later week. This delay is not due to our staff, but is due to
procedural and institutional delays for both the financial institutions and the
Archdiocese.
We greatly appreciate the continued tithing of many parishioners, as it has
been a great help for each parish to continue its basic functioning and staff-
ing. Your gifts allow us to pay not only for recurring monthly bills(such as lawn
care, facility maintenance, security of the campuses, etc. ) but also allows us to
create a reasonable budget for the upcoming fiscal year. How you give now
is a projection of what we expect in the future. If you are unable to donate
during this difficult time, please pray for our faith community and our churches
continue to pray for you.

As we continue social distancing measures due to COVID-19, the church doors remain
closed. Since we are not publically celebrating mass there are several different ways
that you can continue to support St. Paul parish. First, you can mail your contributions for
to 824 Jefferson St. Tell City, IN 47586. Second, you can set up online bill pay through
your banking institution or at www.www.archindy.org/Giving where you can make a one
time or recurring donation. You can also donate online through our parish webpage,
www.stpaultellcity.org/giving. Don’t forget that with online giving there is usually some
delay before we receive notification of your donation from your bank or from the archdi-
ocese, so if your gift does not appear in the bulletin immediately following your donation,
it will be reported in a later week.
We greatly appreciate the continued tithing of our parishioners. Your support makes it
possible for St. Paul to pay not only for recurring monthly bills (utilities, facility mainte-
nance & upkeep, lawn care, insurance, security, etc.) but also to create a reasonable
budget for the upcoming fiscal year. How you give now is a projection of what we can
expect in the future. If you are unable to donate during this difficult time, please pray
for our quad parish community as we are praying for you. God Bless

Envelope & Online Giving Opportunities
Envelopes with Sunday contributions can be mailed to the parish office as
the mail is being collected several days a week and deposits are being
made weekly. Also, the Archdiocese of Indianapolis is providing an online
giving solution as another option for parishioners. The website to use is
www.archindy.org/ParishGiving. You will see ‘Donation Amount’, ‘Donation
Frequency’, and ‘Please direct my gift to a parish’ - be sure to click on St.
Mark Church, Perry County from the drop down arrow. The final step is
your billing information. It is required that you provide an email ad-
dress. This is important as the tax letter will come to you via email. The
email will also contain a link should you need to make edits to your
gift. Should you run into issues, call the parish office for assistance. The
parish will also receive an Excel file by email providing a list of donors and
the amounts given.
St. Mark T-Shirt, Sweatshirt, and Hoody Orders
Thanks to all who ordered tee shirts, hoodies and/or sweatshirts. The order
is being processed at this time. Mary Lee Smith will be contacting you for
delivery once she picks up the merchandise. Please stay safe.
High School Graduation Breakfast
St. Mark Altar Society honors our graduating seniors every year by pre-
paring a breakfast for them and their families. Due to the temporary clo-
sure of the Church and current state mandates, this will be postponed until
a later date when it is safe to gather. Congratulation to our seniors, Dylan
Hubert and Kelsey Poehlein!

Mass Prayers
FIFTH SUNDAY OF EASTER
May 9/10, 2020
Gloria
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you,
we adore you, we glorify you,
we give you thanks for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father,
you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world,
receive our prayer;
you are seated at the right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.
For you alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
First Reading ; Acts 6: 1-7
As the number of disciples continued to grow, the
Hellenists complained against the Hebrews because
their widows were being neglected in the daily distri-
bution. So the Twelve called together the community of
the disciples and said, “It is not right for us to neglect
the word of God to serve at table. Brothers, select
from among you seven reputable men, filled with the
Spirit and wisdom, whom we shall appoint to this task,
whereas we shall devote ourselves to prayer and to
the ministry of the word.”
The proposal was acceptable to the whole commu-
nity, so they chose Stephen, a man filled with faith and
the Holy Spirit, also Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon,
Parmenas and Nicholas of Antioch, a convert to Juda-
ism. They presented these men to the apostles who
prayed and laid hands on them.
The word of God continued to spread, and the
number of the disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly;
even a large group of priests were becoming obedient
to the faith.
The word of the Lord R: Thanks be to God.
Psalm 23:1-3a, 3b-4, 5, 6
Res: Let your mercy be on us,
as we place our trust in you
Second Reading: 1 Peter 2:4-9
Beloved: Come to him, a living stone, rejected by
human beings but chosen and precious in the sight of
God, and, like living stones, let yourselves be built into
a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood to offer spir-
itual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
For it says in Scripture:
Behold, I am laying a stone in Zion
a cornerstone, chosen and precious,
and whoever believes in it shall not be put to shame.
Therefore, its value is for you who have faith, but for
those without faith:
The stone that the builder rejected
has become the cornerstone,
and
A stone that will make people stumble,
and a rock that will make them fall.
They stumble by disobeying the word, as is their desti-
ny.
You are “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy
nation, a people of his own, so that you may announce
the praises” of him who called you out of darkness into
his wonderful light.
The word of the Lord R: Thanks be to God.
Gospel: John 14:1-12
A reading from the holy Gospel according to John
R: Glory to you, O Lord.
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not let your hearts
be troubled. You have faith in God; have faith also in
me. In my Father’s house there are many dwelling
places. If there were not, would I have told you that I
am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come back again and
take you to myself, so that where I am you also may
be. Where I am going you know the way?”
Thomas said to him, “Master, we do not know
where you are going; how can we know the way?” Je-
sus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the
life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Page 7
& Scriptures
6 Welcome to our Quad-Parish Community May 10, 2020 Fifth Sunday of Easter
If you know me, then you will also know my Father. From
now on you do not know him and have seen him.” Philip
said to him, “Master, show us the Father, and that will be
enough for us.” Jesus said to him, ‘ “Have I been with you
for so long a time and you still do not know me, Philip?
Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you
say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in
the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak
to you I do not speak on my own. The Father who dwells
in me is doing his works. Believe me that I am in the Fa-
ther and the Father is in me, or else, believe because of
the works themselves. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever
believes in me will do the works that I do, and will do
greater ones than these, because I am going to the Fa-
ther.”
The Gospel of the Lord.
R. Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
At the words that follow, up to and including
“and became man,” all bow.
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the
Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven and is seated
at the right hand of the Father
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of
life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored
and glorified
who has spoken through the prophets.
I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic
Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and I look forward to the resurrection of the
dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament. I love you above all things,
and I Desire to receive you into my soul. Since I can-
not at this moment receive you sacramentally, come
at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as
if you were already there and untie myself wholly to
you. Never permit me to be separated from you.
Amen.
