Day 1 • Steam Boilers Definition and terminology. • Steam Boilers Classification: Fire-tube Boilers, Water-tube Boilers, Cast Iron Boilers, High Pressure Boilers, Low Pressure Boilers, Steam Boilers, Electrical and Hydronic Boilers, Package boiler. Boiler accessories: Water columns, gage glasses, pressure gauges, safety valves, and other safety device

• Boiler performance analysis: Key performance indicators of steam boilers• Combustion and Fuel system• Draft and Flue Gas Systems• Super heaters • Heat Recovery Equipments: Economizers, Air heaters, and Flash steam

• Boiler Commissioning• Boiler Troubleshooting• Main Boilers Problems their possible Causes and remedies• Root Cause Analysis (RCA).• Case studies and open discussion

Course OverviewSteam Boiler Operation Maintenance and Troubleshooting is a 5-days training course providing information on virtually all facets of steam boiler operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting is specially designed to cover the following topics: • Review of Heat transfer and Thermodynamics in the boilers, Water and steam, Types of boiler , Boiler component design and construction, Boilers applications • Burners and combustors: Combustion fundamentals, Practical burner design, Draft system, Chimney and Combustion fans.• Boiler operation and Safety: Boiler Accidents, Boiler Water Treatment Systems, Boiler start-up and shutdown, Normal/abnormal operation.• Boiler Diagnostic, Inspection, Testing and Efficiency calculation and • Boiler Maintenance: Preventive and Corrective Maintenance• Boiler troubleshooting, Failure and causes, and discussion seminar.

He has published over 50 papers on thermo-fluid systems and taught many courses in mechanical and process engineering such as heat transfer, thermodynamics, boilers and steam generation, Power plants, heat exchangers and others at Al-Balqa Applied University, JUST, Yarmouk and Philadelphia universities in Jordan, Yanbu Industrial College and Umm Al-Qura University at Saudi Arabia. Dr. Mohammed Al-Odat, is graduated with PhD from University of Jordan and he is a professor of Mechanical and Process Engineering. He is a highly experienced consultant and trainer with over 20 years experience in various disciplines of process and Mechanical engineering. Currently he is a professor of Mechanical Engi-neering at Umm Al-Qura University-Saudi Arabia.
