Introduction

O A Pareto Diagram named after Vilfredo Pareto, is a type of chart that contains both bars and a line graph, where individual values are represented in descending order by bars, and the cumulative total is represented by the line.

Purpose of Pareto Diagram

Pareto Diagram is used to assess the most frequently occurring defects by category.

Specification of Pareto Diagram

O The left vertical axis in the frequency of occurrence, but it can alternatively represent cost or another important unit of measure.

O The right vertical axis is the cumulative percentage of the total number of occurrence, total cost, or total of the particular unit of measure. Because the reasons are in decreasing order, the cumulative function is a concave function.

Peer Pressure

A rotten apple injuries its companion. Similarly , Students are often influenced by their peer group to which they belong. Student imitate their friend’s bunking habit.

Less interested way of

teaching/teacher A good teacher attracts students in the class. What if the teacher is not skilled or not good communicator ? It is one among the major reason which let students bunk lectures.

Odd timings of the class

Students tend to skip those lectures which does not suits their schedule or timing. Odd timings like early in the morning , late in evening and right after the lunch.

Page 21: Qcl-14-v3_[pareto diagram]_[banasthali university]_[Anu Vashisth]

O Pareto Diagram helped us to know the major problems. So that we could solve the larger portion of the problem instead wasting time on less affecting problem.

O Timings of classes should be suitable to students.

O Teacher must be skilled and good communicator.

O Psychological environment should be good and encouraging

O Students should not follow wrong company and one should not get influenced by peer pressure.
