Q7- Evaluation
Matt Popli
PreliminaryLack of continuity
When shooting and editing the shots continuity was lost
Final Piececontinuity
In comparison to the preliminary when we used different shots, continuity between
them was more effective
PreliminaryLack of planning
• Within our Preliminary we didn't’t plan our story for very long.
• We came up with the idea by quickly discussing and then shooting it.
• I think the lack our structure to our story can be found by seeing how random the story is.
Final PiecePlanning and structure
used a narrative planning sheet to discuss and make a decision on what plot we should use
Made an animatic, creating our shots to see if they were what we wanted to use for our final piece
Made a story board to mind map our ideas of what we wanted our final piece to look like
Preliminary Vs. Final
• Equipment- The transition from using a flip camera to a Canon 550D enabled us to be in more control of how we wanted to use.
Able to focus on different objects when and how we wanted to
Example of a shot focusing on different points
Out of focus- Preliminary
• Working in a team and communicating was something I felt has improved we communicated more effectively and made sure everyone was on the same page at all times.
• I have learnt many different shots which I have learnt can completely effect the vision and final piece.
Preliminary Vs. Final
• Within our final piece there is more focus and attention given to mise-en scene, sound, editing and camera shots and angles
Out of sync sound effectNew software's used for our Final
