Focus Group

• I asked a group of my peers who are of the age range and social group of my target audience. I asked for feedback by using Facebook message, as social media plays an important role in my target audience’s life so it was important to convey this in my feedback. By asking them on Facebook is an effective way to get an immediate response directly from them. I also used iMessage on iPhone to get feedback on my media products, this also represents how my target audience use mobile phones on a day to day basis so it was important to consider that when constructing my product

Conclusion• Overall, from my focus group I have found that they like my

‘women in music’ theme, which plays an significant role in my magazine. One of focus group said that they liked how my magazine didn’t focus on women in the music industry as ‘objects’ but ‘depicting them as powerful’. One also said that they liked the plug feature on my contents page stating that ‘including an expensive prize is appealing’- which was an aim I had for my magazine, to include prizes for people who may not be able to afford them. Many said they liked how that many well known celebrities were featured which would make them want to purchase my magazine. However, some said that they wouldn’t buy the magazine as they ‘don’t purchase music magazine’, although they said that the price was reasonable. On the other hand Response 5 stated that they would ‘pay more’ than £2.20 per month for my product. This shows that my aim to create a high quality magazine at a low price has worked.
