PosesThese are conventional poses used in R & B music magazines

My artist is posing in a conventional manner, so my audience will find it easier to identify with other magazines of the same genre.

Page 3: Q1

Sell LinesSell lines are conventional feature which are part of the front cover of a magazine, the sell lines are a way in which the magazine sells it self, for example in my magazine I have used “top 50 tracks of all time”, this is a way in which I can make my magazine sell and stand out from other magazines.

Props The artist in my magazine was wearing and using props to make a more authentic look and also to make her more conventional, props were used such as:MicrophonesNecklacesBracelets

These props are usually associated with female r&b artists, so I used these props to make my artist and my magazine cover look conventional and authentic. For example in the blender magazine the model is wear bracelets. So by doing the same my magazine is being conventional so it is associate with the same genre

Masthead

Actual Mastheads

My Masthead

My masthead is a unique feature of my magazine, which stands out from the rest of the magazine , the font used has a drop shadow with a red background, as the masthead is placed on a white background the use of red makes it stand out to be seen. The masthead is dynamic which looks sophisticated, the use of blue allows it to be identified by a male and female audienceMy masthead is unique and different because it has a

drop shadow behind it which makes it unique as I have not seen another magazine doing this.

Puff• A puff is a conventional

feature that is used in many magazines to promote the magazine and brag it.

• It tries to make the magazine seem better than the competitors which makes you want to buy the magazine

• E.G in XXl they use: A decade of dominace, this shows that is may be one of the best music magazines

• I used “biggest and the best” which gives connotations that it is the biggest magazine out of the competitors and also it is the best.

• I did this to my front cover to make it more conventional

Page 8: Q1

There are many similarities with my magazine and a magazine from vibe. Some similarities would be the sell lines, these are important as they sell the magazine also by making it a more attractive magazine to buy, also the colour scheme stays constant throughout. Also the use of using other artists names is very

Conventional as it offers other artists if people do not like the featuring artists they have other artists to look forward too. The colours on my front cover stay consistent just as they do on the actual vibe magazine, I used the use of blue, red and white, 3 main colours that stay consistent throughout the magazine which upholds the image of my brand identity.

Comparing my magazine double page spread to another, there are many differences which make my double page spread different, I have used my main image to take up the whole page which also includes the background, I think that is a unique feature that my magazine holds, the page is also conventional though, with the use of Q and A style, also the way its been formatted into a conventional layout and composition of columns. Also I have used a floating quote which is an another conventional feature.

Floating QuoteFloating quotes are one of my unique features in my double page spread. It’s a conventional feature to use because it gives a statement about the artist and what they are about. The quote is shown as she is unique and it puts a statement forward about what my artist is about.

FreebiesThis Is one way I have made my magazine seem more attractive to buy because by offering a free cd, you are offering more with the actual magazine also it is a very conventional way in which magazines attract their audience to buy the product. This is another similarity that my magazine has with other magazines in this genre.
