Q1: In what way does my media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions

of real media products?

Page 2: Q1

Use;

The media product that I made represented the genre as it had a female cast that were stereotypical girly girl this was shown through their interest in makeup, dancing and going out and having a good time.

- The mise en

scene was a reflection of the typical backgrounds found in my specific genre with a teenage girls bedroom.

Also the close up which were used to show the aspects of girls life such as make up, alcohol and cigarettes.

Page 4: Q1

Developed; • We showed that they were fun loving girly girls however the fact that

they went out were drinking shows they are more than the stereotypical image girls are meant to portray.

Challenged; The genre which was challenged as there is normally a leading male

character usually shown as a love interest. However in my media product there are only female characters introduced.

- This connotes that the main target audience are also teenage girls and women so they are able to relate to the main female characters.

We also challenged the conventions of a stereotypical chick films as the girls in our product did not always look perfect especially when they returned from their night out. However the more conventional looks found in this specific genre are girls looking perfect all the time.
