How to take a bearing:

Start facing North.  Turn clockwise to face the direction you want to go.  The degree measure you turned is the bearing from where you are to the point you want to get to.

*The shortest distance between two parallel lines or between a line and a point is a segment perpendicular to the line(s).

*A chord of a circle is a line segment with both endpoints on the circle.

*If one chord is a perpendicular bisector of another chord, then the first chord is a diameter.

*A line drawn from the center of a circle at right angles of a chord bisects the chord.  This creates an isosceles  triangle, which can be split into two congruent triangles.

*A tangent to a circle meets the radius at the point of tangency at a right angle.
