Ride A Horse, Grant A WishEach year, thousands o Canadian children between the
ages o 3 and 17 are diagnosed with a lie-threatening ill-ness. Since 1984, the “Children’s Wish Foundation” o Can-
ada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to 16,500 children and their amilies. Te Children’s Wish Foun-dation has earned its reputation as the leading authority onwish granting in our country. Once a child is reerred tothe Children’s Wish Foundation, they can choose any wishmaginable without regard to cost or logistics.
Fifeen years ago, Walter White combined his love o horses and his passion to help very sick children and or-ganized the rst Wish Trail Ride, which has since grownnto a province-wide event. Last year, our local riding
club, Te Nelson and District Riding Club, raised $3000
and granted a wish to a special little girl by the name o Natalie. She is a sweet, 4 year old girl who knows all toowell the struggles associated with Leukemia. Trough ourclubs eorts, Natalie was sent to Disneyland to spend timewith her all-time avorite thing, Princesses!!
Tis year, Te Nelson and District Riding Club will beholding its annual Wish Ride on Saturday, June 19 at theNelson and District Riding Club, 4635 Blewett Road. Al-though the day starts with a 2 to 3 hour trail ride, you donot have to own a horse or ride the trail to support thisevent. Tere will also be a BBQ, hosted by the Nelson 4-H
