Onboard Monitoring Box • GSM/GSM-R modem • Embedded GPS • Upload JRU data to central server for train monitoring • Real-me monitoring of EVC- JRU links • Wi-fi for: data upload in depots, soſtware updates, flexible firmware The Onboard Monitoring Box (OMB) is a passive acqui- sion and monitoring hardware device, developed by ERTMS Soluons. With a non-disrupve approach, it col- lects the messages exchanged between various ERTMS OBU sub-systems (for instance between the EVC, JRU and STMs) and transfers this informaon to a configurable ap- plicaon soſtware. Infrabel: a success story Within its EM20x maintenance vehicles, Infrabel installed three Onboard Monitoring Boxes, to provide real-me monitoring of telegrams read at ETCS / TBL-1 tags. The acquired data are transmied in real me, via a Wi-Fi/ GSM data network, to a central server managed by Infra- bel. Infrabel’s objecve for the next future is equipping a serie of commercial vehicles with the same device, to obtain a higher coverage of the railway network, ensur - ing a more efficient maintenance service.
