Course Prerequisite: Must have taken the Basic Designated Officer training course and have experience as the Designated Officer.

After  the  designated  officer  has  

been  active  in  the  position,  this  

course   will   build   on   the   skills  

and  knowledge  gained  from  the  

basic   program.   This   course  

deals   with   updating   disease  

information,  pertinent  laws  and  

regulations,   statistical   data  

collection   and   reporting,  

product   evaluation,   conducting  

cost/benefit   analysis,   and  

program  evaluation.

• Review new OSHA bloodborne pathogen compliance directive

• Update bloodborne pathogens, meningitis, and emerging infections
