We give 2 types of food to at least one person. The foods may be the same bracha, but not the same types of food.

We give Mishloach Manos during the day of

Purim, not at night.

Wonderful!Try to give the

Tzedakah early in the day, so that the

poor people will have time to buy

food for their meal. In many

communities, there is someone who

takes care of collecting this

money and distributing it to the

poor on Purim.

Giving Tzedakah brings people closer together. Purim is about unity among the Jewish People.

On Purim, we give Tzedaka to anyone

who asks.

Hamantaschen Recipe

Ingredients:2/3 cup pareve margarine or butter

1/2 cup sugar1 egg1/2 teaspoon vanilla2 1/2-3 cups sifted unbleached all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking powderDash of salt

1. Cream the shortening with sugar. Add egg and continue creaming until smooth.2. Add the vanilla. Stir in the sifted flour, baking powder, and salt until a ball of dough is formed (a food processor is excellent for this).3. Chill for 2-3 hours, or overnight.4. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.5. Taking 1/4 of the dough, roll out on a lightly floured board to a thickness of 1/8 inch. Cut circles of dough with a drinking glass or round cookie-cutter. With your finger put water around the rim of the circle. Fill with 1 teaspoon poppy-seed or nut filling and fold into three-cornered cookies. (Press two sides together, and then fold the third side over and press the ends together.)6. Bake on a well-greased cookie sheet 10-16 minutes, until the tops are golden.

old when she became Queen!• Haman was hanged on the 2nd day of Pesach, not

on Purim!• The night that Achashveirosh couldn’t sleep was

the first night of Pesach!• All of the letters of the Aleph-Bais are found in

one passuk in the Megillah (Chapter 3, Verse 13)• The longest Passuk in the whole of Tanach is in

the Megillah (Chapter 8, Verse 9)
