PUPIL CELEBRATION NEWSLETTER Friday 3 rd April 2020 Edition 1 Attitude Determines Altitude WELCOME Welcome to the Platanos College pupil celebration newsletter. We are living through extraordinary times and we are proud of all of our staff, pupils and their families for how they have adjusted to the major changes imposed on them by fighting the coronavirus pandemic. Teachers are working tirelessly to set meaningful lessons and work online and we thought it important to celebrate individual pupils who have shown terrific effort in producing and uploading work onto Show My Homework and the other online platforms being used by the school. We are aware that there are pupils who have been unable to successfully upload work at the moment– this has affected a minority of pupils – but we know through our phone calls home to all of our families over the past two weeks that work is being completed. Well done to all of our pupils who are continuing to access their education during this extraordinary period in all of our lives. Below are pupils nominated by the Directors of Learning of subjects as showing extraordinary effort since the school closed. For Ebacc subjects – English, Maths, Science, History and Spanish – pupils have been awarded GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE compared to all of their peers in their year groups for the effort and quality of their work:
